Driving ages

Hm,
How old do you have to be to get your permit?
To get your liscense?
To actually drive people not your family?

Over here,
you have to go to Driver's Ed, and when you turn 16, you can get your permit.
After you have your permit for 6 months, you schedule a road test for your liscense.
you have to wait another 6 months to actually drive people that's not your family, but no one even follows that rule _dry.gif

I think every state is different...

How old do you have to be to get your permit? 15.... my cousin juss got her permist this summer. but im not sure if you have to take driver's ed.

To get your liscense? 16

To actually drive people not your family? that would be after when you get your liscence?

well i live in michigan and here you have to take 2 sessions of driver's ed, then you can get your permit when your 14 and 9 months, but most people get it when they are 15. then you have to have your permit for 6 months before you can take a road test to get your liscence at 16. i think you can drive anyone when you turn 16, but you can only have 3 passengers at a time in the car (besides you).

in indiana, you can get your permit a week after you turn 15 and you can get your liscense a week after you turn 16. you can drive people under the age of 21 around 3 months after you get your liscense.

Here, you can get your permit when you're 15. After that, you can wait 6 months to get your license or you can just take driver's ed and you dont have to wait 6 months.

every state is different. in florida i think that u get ur license at the age of 17...but here in nj u get it at 17 and ur permit at 16

I got my permit. Im 15 in a half.

over here, u have to be 15 and 6 months to be able to get ur permit and 16 and 3 months to get ur license. thats all I know lol

well
permit -- you can take the class in 8th grade but can driver with the driver at 15+
liscense -- 16+
drive people not in your family-- when ever you get your permit biggrin.gif i like North Carolina's rules

but;; you have to wait a whole year to get your liscense

then theres this law that you have to wait 6 months after your lisence to drive over one non family member. its not that bad. i jus hope they dont change the laws in the next year =D

i wanna drive!! i wish i was back in america *sigh*

in singapore there is no such thing as permits or drivers ed...

you can only get your license when ur 18 that sucks

i think its 15 and a half to get a permit and 16 for license. im not sure. id have to check. i just turned 15 and a half recently, but my mom wont let me get a permit.

hmmm..

over here you get ur permit at 15 and 9 mo. and ur license at 16 [maybe 2 mo. ...i'm not sure..]

from the looks of it..most states issue drivers licenses at 16 +

16 for provisional drivers license
17 to be allowed to drive other minors
18 for full drivers license.

permit- 15 and 7 months or anytime after that
licsense- 5 months after you get your permit, at least 16.

i live in tennessee and here you can get your permit at 15. After 6 months, as long as you're 16, take the road test. (If less than a year has passed between permit &l license...u only take the road test, otherwise, u take the computer test again and the road)

Does that make sense?

oh and we have 3 leveles of drivers licenses. one for 16, then 17, then 18.
I think you can drive more that family members after you have had your license for 6 months

Aren't they changing it, so that if you were born 1990+ you cant get your liscence ( how the fcuk do you spell that? ) till you're 18?
