have you noticed how the world is completely against left handed people?
school desks- as if those desks arent uncomfortable enough, lets just put the arm rest only on the right side, which makes writing with your left hand completely akward sissors- cutting with sissors and getting straight lines or good curves is just hard computer mouses/mice/meeces- theyre on the right, which although over time you adjust, it still makes drawing steadily difficult, especially when vectoring, which might just account for part of the reason im so terrible at it writing left to right- with our writing system, moving you hand left to right with your right hand is quite easy because you can pull it along, where as lefties have to push their hand along the paper, which takes more energy, is slower, and it gets the side of your hand rediculously dirty because it rubs the paper and smears the lead/ink see, its not easy, and its not fair. we should start a left handed peoples support activist group, or something of the sort. i mean sure, i may be able to get a scholarship for it, but thats about the only advantage. this unfair treatment of left handed people is unjust, and at the very least they should provide some lfet handed desks |

Go to school in China! Most everything is written in columns from right to left. It sucks for me since I'm a rightie.
Of course, it would help if you knew how to write it. Because it would be just weird if you wrote like that in English. =\ Make a petition that tells the schools to get new desks, individual desks that don't have chairs attached to them. And there are a lot of scissors these days with equal sized finger holes. As for the computer mouse, look for a left-handed version. All this can be done, it's just a big inconvenience. But if everything was leftie-wise then righties would complain, and the population of righties is higher than lefties, so isn't it just easier to go with the majority? (<-- That made no sense). |

Actually being left handed in China is very very bad. You would not be able to function correctly to the extent that parents have to smack the "leftness" out of you when you're a baby. And it's like, 300% harder to write characters when you're left handed, as strokes are made from left to right. That makes writing characters extremely frustrating and yucky! |

left handed people die sooner because they are using the wrong side of their brains. and it causes complications. because certain information is stored in each hemisphere, and they sort of shifted things a bit. im in AP psychology but i got a 34% on that test so maybe im inaccurate. NOT. f**kING ASSHOLES I PAID ATTENTION TO THAT PART OF THE CHAPTER BECAUSE MY BOYFRIENDS JEWISH. CUNTS.

You're asking if I'm Chinese or not? Yes, I'm Chinese. Writing correctly is important for me because I'm in Chinese school and have the class for high school. It's important to go left-->right because that's the correct way to do it, and it helps me remember how the stroke order is. THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING? Why are you inflating the situation? I have no problem with using scissors with my right hand, and smudging does happen to me, especially if the ink is not fast dry. I NEVER said writing characters with your left hand is unnatural. I haven't mentioned race in any part of my posts before this, I haven't asked anyone if they were Chinese, yet you DECIDE to add race into it. Oh! I see, just because someone isn't Chinese, they CANNOT learn Chinese, or observe and publicly talk about its rules? You may not say you are denoting these statements, but by your post, that is what you are telling me. Ignorance. Let's see which one of us is more ignorant on this matter. Because, YOU were the one who said "writing Chinese characters from left to right is frustrating", and YOU were the one who implied people DO write normally like they do in calligraphy. If this isn't about Chinese culture, I don't know what is. And isn't it correct to learn something CORRECTLY? I didn't say someone not Chinese couldn't learn Chinese! I'm getting pissed at the fact that people don't open their eyes and OBSERVE - if you want to learn Chinese, learn it the right way. If you're not Chinese but can still give me true reasons and thoughtful observations about Chinese culture, then sure, I'll give you that respect. But if you're not Chinese and give me all this crap stereotype sh*t that isn't true, of course I won't give you any respect. Because I'm sorry, sweetie, I am too LEFT HANDED, I TAKE A CHINESE CLASS, AND I ALSO TAKE CALLIGRAPHY. Maybe you should get your facts straight before you go around accusing people. |

You, here, are going ballistic over the fact not EVERYONE writes like that with a pencil. I agree with that. But it doesn't make it right, and I believe in correctness (see above). It's irrelevant because I was talking about writing with Calligraphy technique and writing with a pencil technique. While you blabbed on about how important Left --> Right is. I was referring ONLY to writing technique and NOT Left --> Right. Irrelevant? Nah. <--And since you're so horrible at catching sarcastic statements, that was one. I still don't understand. That's not racist. Please, look it up. "Chinese Wannabe"? I'll admit that's a bit racist, but stereotypical? I never said that all caucasians are "Chinese Wannabes" or anything like that. I only implied that "Chinese Wannabes" try to be Chinese and do it incorrectly...which is precisely what a Chinese Wannabe is. And when the f*ck did I say every Chinese person does calligraphy? QUOTES, PLEASE. Sorry, I meant to say language. See entire post above. My arguments are pointless? Please, read over all I have said and THINK ABOUT IT. And also, it's your, not you're. I agree, I am arrogant and I think the world is for me to answer. But if my answers make sense, are logical, and are correct, I don't see any problems with that. I'll respect the person who can prove me wrong, but obviously that won't be you. I never told you to stop complaining about how being left handed is inconvenient. I only asked why do you think so. I was only curious because I am left handed and I know a great deal of people who are also and don't have your problems. And if my curiousness comes off as arrogant, well, I really don't know what to do about that. ok ![]() Did you have fun writing all that? =] Just don't break a leg when you do fall. ~~~ So how do other lefties deal with the whole "sitting to the right of right-handed people"? |

I'm left handed, but I do cut with scissors on my right hand.
