okay,.. for people who like to do blends, vectors, and whatnot...
i find whenever i'm making a layout/skin (particularly a vector one), i tend to spend about anywhere from 1-3 hrs just looking for the right picture... its weird b/c the original picture has to have the "right vibe", etc. do y'guys find it that way too? or do you guys just take whatever and make whatever? maybe this should go to webdesign, but whatever. |

ahh i love to make things like that..YES, it takes a long time for me to find pictures..maybe not that long, but yes it does have to be a certain way=)

Hrm.. for my layout right now, I knew I was going to make one of my friend so I just used the picture she gave me. I usually end up finding a bunch of pictures of whatever I want to do the layout of.. and then mess around with those pictures and see which one works best. Yeah.. It usually takes me like 30 minutes to find the pictures. Yep. I work the loooooongest time on the layout. Yeup.

I usually don't go looking for the pictures. Most of the time I'm just looking around and see the picture. If I like it enough, I'll use it.

I go around looking for pictures...and then save it onto my computer. I never once thought about making any of those into layouts...but sometimes when I'm bored and I go through the tutorials, I'll make something with one of those images and use it for a layout. It's totally random, at least, for me.

Sometimes, when I'm making an image, it takes me forever to think of what I want to make. After I decide what I want the pic to be, I go looking for the pics I need. This could take a short time or it can take hours...sometimes I can't find what I want and I get really frustrated. If I can't find the right pic I just stop what I was doing and it usually ruins my whole day.....I can't stop thinking about it...I hate leaving things undone....even if I havnt actually started the "project." Sometimes I could just be online and see the perfect pic for editing and then spend 30 mins on the whole process. The most important part is finding the right stock images to work with...if u use a bad picture...even with the best talent the picture is still gonna look like somthing is wrong with it....so the time spent on the image search can make or break ur designs.

I don't look for images unless it was specified in my project or whatever. It depends on my muse really. Sometimes I can just see a newspaper advert and feel inspired and just use random stock images to make something.

i never like asking people what i should use.
idk... i think its worth it spending that much time finding the right pictures b/c a lot of people tell me "i love the pictures you choose to vector/etc" and then i'm happy. |

yea it takes me a loong time to find the right picture(s) because i get so picky yu know you feel like you have to make it perfect, so then the pictures have to be perfect but the internet is all full of bad pictures so its really hard

Oh man, at least you don't have to start from scratch.
It's a lot harder when you're doing abstract, you're much more hard-pressed to do something revolutionary, something unique. Not to mention all that time wasted on rendering. =D |

i only make layouts when i see a nice picture while doing something else. i;m to lazy to go search. if i have nothing to do, i just type in anime or abstract and BOOM! tons of good pics.

Yeah, it does take a while to find the "right" pictures. But then there are those pictures that just jump out at you from nowhere and you're like
 "That'll make a great layout  "
