I started viola because I wanted to have some experience under my belt for flute. [which I had wanted to play for a LONG time, and couldn't play for another year]
I started flute because.. it interested me for a long time.
I started piano because it interested me, and I love playing instruments.
I play other various ones.. I pretty much only played them for fun.
I'm learning drums.. cause they're so COOL. XD
I want to take guitar, too.. [=

When I was 10 or something, I wanted to play the piano as good as my friend, Jessica. But my teacher was 18, and she was giving piano lessons to make money for college. I took lessons in the summer, but when summer was over, she had to leave for college, so that's pretty much when I stopped taking lessons. Soon after, I thought the piano was boring, so I never went back.

I learned to play piano cuz of my parents. As for guitar, sure I was influenced a lil by my father, but I myself was interested in learning how to play in hopes of joining a band one day and so I can write music.

i decided to join band because i thought it would be fun to know how to play an instrument, and because a lot of my friends were. plus, my mom was already thinking far ahead to how band could help me get into college even though i was in 6th grade at the time

I want to learn how to play my stupid guitar.

And I've always wanted to learn how to play piano. My dad would love me a million times more if I played the violin/piano. BUT I PLAY FLUTE AND I SUCK.

I wanted to play. So my mom bought me one.

my parents forced me to play piano for about eight years... and i'm still stuck with it. i think i only hate it because it's turned into a chore and isn't my thing anymore but eh, i'm pretty thankful. learning to read music from piano helps A LOT now.

i wanted to play guitar three years ago because of Mike Einziger, still love it.

learned bass and drums thereafter thanks to previous and present bandmates and fooling around. aha, it's fun.

I played violen in 5th grade because it looked like fun. I don't know if I was good or bad at it, but at stopped playing before I got to 6th grade.

Christmas I'm getting a guitar, I'm soo excited. But I would actually rather play the drums. Maybe if I'm good I might join my friend's "band"...

When I was little, my parents signed me up for piano class. It wasn't really a forceful thing, but then again it kind of was, too o_o i was on and off of piano from when i was age 5 to like age 10 lol. still don't know much. oh well. and when i was 9 or 10, i learned how to play the gou zhen...again, it wasn't really a forceful thing, but it kind of was too. and now i play the violin, but i wanted to. so yeah.
edit// i forgot, i also learned how to play the recorder blink.gif but it was more of a school thing.

I learned to play the clarinet because...I needed something to do and I heard you got to do concerts at theme parks and stuff so I thought that was cool.
:P Then I quit because...I didn't like it that much.
