no. it would be devastating to our economy and so many people are addicted to it as it is. even if it is banned, people will still do it.

absolutely f**king not
do you know how stupid that would be
people are still going to smoke no matter what even if they have to pay a little more

just look at the situation surrounding pot
thugs and drug dealers are getting very wealthy from its proceeds...pot should be legal too so they arent the ones benefitting

No. It would just cause too many problems because of the large population already addicted to it. They just won't quit even if it was banned.

Nope I don't think it should. I don't particularly smoke myself but I have a fetish for guys who do. I enjoy the smell of smoke and I throb.gif the fact that it gives them raspy voices.

Besides, if they did, many people would still do it. It's not like you can break the habit by a silly law.

Wow that's one of the freaking strangest fetishs that I've ever heard of.. (not counting those sexual ones)

Ban it here in the USA or not, doesn't matter(to me), but those high and mighty tobacco companies should definitely stop spreading their evil over third world countries.

A few African countries for example, are introduced to that drug, and the results are deforestation, economic, and health problems as well. Tobacco crops pay more than maize crops, and therefore they grow tobacco in place of maize. Plus, tobacco corrupts the soil, making it hard to grow anything else, resulting in ecological problems. [link]

Economic problems are derived from choice of cigarrete suppliers.. and much more. Unfortunately, I only know the basics so I can't delve into that. [link]

And as for health problems? Well I'm sure you all know that one already...

cigarettes shouldn't be made illegal. even i think that i'm the straightest edge kid here. it's an abomination, though, that tobacco companies have such a tight chokehold on the economy and the millions of people it addicts.

i guess you just have to show people the harm it's doing to them, and if they continue to ignore the longterm effects then it's their grave.

Not totally banned.. because that would have a HUGE affect on our economy.

I think smoking should be banned from ALL restaurants/stores/etc.
Why should other people have to put up with the second-hand smoke?
I mean, yeah, there's a smoking and non-smoking section, but that doesn't take it away 100%.
Yeah, they might lose customers, but they might GAIN them, too.. some people avoid restaurants because of smokers. mellow.gif

But no. I don't think it should be TOTALLY banned.
Just banned from smoking in buildings.

Yeah, that's true.. and I suppose it's more fair like that.. but I know of more people who despise second hand smoke than people who actually smoke.

u kno ur killing urself everytime u smell smoke from a cig. 30 mins of smelling 2nd hand smoke is like smoking one cig. or osmethin like htat. if u dont want 2 kill urself, i'd suggest u get a new fetish.

no, ppl should not be able 2 smoke in building and restuarants. ur willing 2 risk the health of non-smokers because ppl want to smoke in ur facilities? if u want 2 smoke, smoke outside, where most ppl wont be affected by ur nasty habit

personally i want it ban, but ppl r gunna smoke it anyways. and u cant really take down the smoke companies, cause like phillip morris owns so many other companies, it would be devistatiing to our economy.

i really hate smokers, i despise them with a passion. and i really hate how smokers smoke around ppl. i dont want 2 die from smokers 2nd hand smoke, if u want 2 kill urself wit ur bad habit then thats ur choice, but dont kill others who dont smoke.

I think it should be banned.
What...positive things are affiliated with it? Nothing so therefore it should NOT exist.

^that would only cause more people to start. people like to be rebels, which is one reason drugs are so popular. while it doesnt need to be legal, it shouldnt be illegalized either, because historical evidence shows that it would fail, and cause economic problems

first of all, i think that its really horrible that most of us think that it would be impossible to stop everyone from smoking because this proves that the system doesn't work and we have no faith in it.(or at least in the smoking area). but yes, sadly, i agree. people would just smoke more if it was banned, only illegally.

i think we should first answer if we smoke or not and then ask if we think it should be banned... no and yes.
Smoking is so bad for your health... but then, so many people smoke now a days it's like no big deal... and it's almost impossible to ban it

I dont think it should be banned because it would be too hard for people to quit right away and people would do it anways. I just wish it wasn't even invented in the first place, but... since it is, we'll just have to deal sad.gif

ur actually quite wrong. 2nd hand smoke more harmful then 1st hand smoke. the reason is cause 1st hand smoke there is a filter in the bud of the cig, preventing most of the harmful chemicals getting into ur body, but 2nd hand smoke on the other hand is not filtered so ur breathing all the poisons and harmful chemicals thats coming cig

the filter doesn't help that much.

but the thing is, you breath more of it firsthand.

more of less is still more.

Agree with him.

However, I do believe it would be a good idea to enforce the idea of "Smoking" and "Non-smoking" areas in public places. Some people want to keep smoking, then go ahead, like he ^ said, its their grave, but those that want to enjoy public places and clean air shouldn't be made to breathe such toxic smoke.

I know this might sound sort of segregationist (is that even a word? blink.gif lol), but I guess lets go with the separate but equal on the whole smoking thing. Let them smoke, but don't subject those that want to breathe clean air to such a nasty thing as smoke.
