Not much is out about this movie yet. Filming's still in the early stages.

For those of you who don't follow Johnny Depp's every waking moment, he's playing Willy Wonka in the Tim Burton remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Its supposed to be deliciously dark. biggrin.gif

Thankyous to oh johnny dot net for the sneak peak photos.

That is one funkeh looking Willa Wonka, ladies and gentlemen.

I can't wait to see the trailer, and I'll most likely watch it, but Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka? Not the best choice. whistling.gif He's not really silly/fun/Willy Wonka-ish looking. Sorry guys.

actually ... Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka is possibly the best choice for role in Hollywood history .... but that's just my opinion.

I'm just saying, he's much too serious and gorgeous to play Willy Wonka. Willy Wonka dances, sings, and hangs around with Oompa Loompas. rolleyes.gif

Not in this one I don't think. Its supposed to be really dark.

Nope. He's not listed in the cast list on imdb.com

However, other members of the cast include:

Christopher Lee as Willy Wonka's Father, and Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Bucket [ Charlie's mom ].

when i first heard about it i was like... HES GOING TO SING?!?!
hahahahahhaha. it made me laugh i can't wait will wonka and the chocolate factory is one of my favorite books.

Tim Burton has a tendency to film his movies in a dark fashion and is usually very stylistic.

And seeing that John August is writing the screenplay (screenwriter of Big Fish) ... it should definitely prove to be very interesting.

So what I guess I'm trying to say is .... don't expect this to be a light-hearted comedy .....

Oh yea .... and the title for this film is CHARLIE and the Chocolate Factory not to be confused with the classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

I want to see that soo bad!! Johnny Depp would be perfect for that role, especiall since its really dark.
