ok,thats going overboard with the dress code. if that was me,i would ask my mom to contact the school about it! that would have pissed me off! i'm happy i dont go to your school...our only rules are:
-dont wear tank tops
-you have to wear shorts/skirts that are finger tip length (but our principal doesnt really care about that rule....as long as the shorts/skirts dont go up to ur butt ur fine lol)
-dont wear jewlery that promotes sex,drugs,or alchohol.(but iv'e broken that rule....iv'e worn a martini glass necklace to school and havent gotten in trouble lol.)

get a parent to complain, petition, find a nice teacher that will address the principal/school district people, but probably the best thing to do would be to get parents (specifically PTA, if you have one) to address it.

if my school was like that, I would have gotten kicked out months ago.

i was also wearing shorts that says dance on the butt for p.e., and i got detention for that because it was "innapropriate" i asked the principal why and she said that shorts saying dance on the butt are promoting sex. i wonder, how do those promote sex?!?!?!

now we have a new dress code rule (well its not official but its an idea thats up in the air) that we can not wear all black clothes because you will be "gothic", we cant wear wristbands or head bands because they are "gangster-like", we cant wear skirts because they make a girl look "cheap".... and so on.

what do you guys think of that? i mean, just because i wear certain stuff it doesnt mean i belong to a certain group or belive in something.. am i correct?

whoaa. well, do you go to a private school?

i went to a private lutheran school from 3rd-8th grade. we didn't have uniforms, but we had a stict dress code. we couldn't wear bottoms with writing on the butt as well. and there were things about not wearing pants that dragged on the floor. no ripped jeans, spaghetti straps (the sleeves had to be 4 fingers wide), couldn't wear band shirts, skirts had to reach your finger tips, all that stuff. they updated the dress code every year to accommodate the changing styles. so it got frustrating.

but now i go to a public high school and the dress codes are almost the same. skirts have to be mid-thigh, no spaghetti straps, no mid-drifts showing... etc.
