Help Intel Xeon Options

Okay, well im not really sure, so can anyone help me out?
Im thinking about getting a Xeon motherboard and two CPUs, i was wondering if they really run as fast or faster than opteron cpu's, since the Xeon runs two CPUs. (im getting two 3.0 cpus) i wanna know if its worth spending money for...

Yeah, Xeon's are for webservers. You'll be spending about $1000 or more for the cpu's and mobos alone. Just watch your electricity bill go up when you have to add in the cooling for it. You probably won't need that much processing power in the near future (what are you using it for?). If I were you, just get a 3.6ghz processor, I'm barely even using up the load on my 2.8ghz pentium 4.

You might also consider an AMD Athlon 64. They don't have high clock speeds as of yet, but have much faster bus speeds and memory controllers and can be overclocked a lot. If you look around, you can find some nice deals on them.

Well i wanna use it for high end gaming
i just got my 3D Mark 05 score and im really disapointed... REALLY disapointed, (im using an Athlon XP 3200+ barton core ) so im looking for something really out there... everyone has a pentium 4, and a few have an athlon 64, so hey, i want a XEON!!! anyways, thats what i want it for, really really high end gaming
(oh and im also using a Radeon X800 pro 256mb)

A Xeon is a server-only chip. Running GAMES on it will get you nowhere. Currently, the Athlon 64 is your best bet for gaming. Just because the Xeon is the most expensive thing out there doesn't mean it'll be perfect for what you plan to use it for. Take Macs, for instance. They're used widely by graphic artists because of their capabilities in that field, but gamers are out of luck with them.

well i do know about the athlon 64 and the pentiums, but i wanted to try something new.. i checked up on the Xeon just last night and looked around for it, i saw that crap on alienware (which i never check on =_= ) and saw it being one of there best pc's.
so if alienware has it, damn then it has to be good. thats the way i looked at it! Ef the fool that sais i know nothing, i just know nothing about the xeon... so i came here.. to find out on it...

Alienware only sells Xeons in their workstation sections. Weren't you looking for a gaming computer?

And you say that you have an X800 Pro in your current 3200+ PC? That's an AGP card. You just spent a lot of money, seeing as how the Xeons only have PCI-Express slots and PCI slots, no AGP slots.

Yes, some socket 604 mobos have AGP 8x.

Good choice picking the AMD processor.

You might want to rethink your statement that using a Xeon processor won't help your games. Take a look at the $7,000+ Falcon that was recently listed as one of the highend desktops in PCMagazine. That thing uses a 3.6ghz Xeon processor, why the Xeon processor? I don't know, but obviously Falcon's got some ideas. To say that you won't get any sort of boost out of Xeon processors is false. Plus if you're running dual Xeon processors, it'll be like running Dual graphics cards utilizing SLi, you'll see a performance boost, of course it won't be 100% but it will still be there. But that's gonna run you a lot of money. I'd suggest getting an Athlon 64 4000+ and then overclocking it, but if you have the money to get dual xeons then I say go for it. Of course you're only running an x800 pro so that'll be your bottle neck, moreso than your processors. You'd probably want a GeForce 6800 Ultra, it could easily school a x800 XT plantnum edition.
