alright, so technically not a dictator.

but he was, very, very unpopular among his people and kept his position by the use of military power ( his and america's )

that's pretty close to dictatorship if you ask me.

Unpopular with whom, Mr acid? With the Communist supporters or with Nationalists?

He came into presidency during WAR TIME. A firm hand was DESPERATEDLY needed to keep the nation together. What did you expect him to do? Be tolerant of those who are out for blood of those who refused to bend to their will? Our freedom were threatened and now lost. Many believed we lost because we lost our president.

If you want, I will tell you true stories of how they forced people to "believe" them. They're very persuasive when it comes to spreading the red.

You and I both know that something generally accepted doesn't make that something true, or right.

Simply put, if America haven't stepped in when it did, the Nationalists had NO chance to even try to fight for our freedom. Communist had some help from China, we would have been on our own. In other words, we would have lost our fight just a lot sooner because we wouldn't have the power/military support to kept on fight for that long.

Perhaps, it could've save many lives that way. But those who lost their lives fought for something that they hope their families will enjoy later, freedom. They knew what they were fighting for and fought for it with their heart and soul.

We rather have a chance to fight than no chance at all. Wouldn't you want a chance to escape when you're forced into a situation where you're being oppressed?
