<--- 4.86 GPA last time I saw it, although your GPA means nothing, really. It's worthless.

The important goods are right here:

ACT: 35 combined
SAT I: 1520 combined

My entrance essay = flawless.

^ actually, they go for UW, and it does matter.
but your courseload matters just as much, perhaps more.
however, if you're applying to competitive colleges, all the numbers just make you fit in. you need a heck of a lot more to make you stand out.

but er.. i don't think you have to worry about that quite yet.

4.86? a's at your school are worth 5.0, aren't they? or something like that.

and i heard GPA counts more than SATs because the admissions people don't base you on a Saturday morning test? Not sure, though.

just do well in school (4.0+), join lots of activities (leadership!), get a 2400 on the SAT and 800 on 3 SAT II's and you'll be fine. hah.

A 3.83 is A.w.E.s.O.m.E! I'd Be [[Really]] Happy If I Could Get A GPA Like That!

ohmy.gif WOAH! Wow, up to 7? Wow haha I was about you say, when you said "5.2" I gasped lol.

There's this one girl who's in my AP Biology class. She has a 5.0 GPA! Of course, she's taking 6 AP classes this year. And we have 6 periods a day... But her culmulative gpa isn't at 5.0. That's impossible to get a 5.0 culmulative gpa.

Wait, what grade are yo in, patrick_star? Because if you got a 3.83 in middle school, yea it is pretty godo since you can't take AP classes middle school. But if you got a 3.83 in high school, that's pretty good as well. But then again, if you're taking an AP class, others will expect at least a 4.0 wink.gif

i dont know....i was just wondering on people's opinions. some people are like "wow that's so good" and then others are like "ohhh...i got a 4.0" and i can never seem to reach that goal!! only once...i've been getting a 3.83 for a looooong time pinch.gif

I'm going to an Ivy league college next year and I odn't even have a 3.83.

It depends on your school. At most schools that's great. If you go to a really crappy school that gives everybody straight as, thats different.

Yea, my high school had the 7.0 GPA system. Kinda weird.

GPA does matter and so do your SAT scores, the essay you send along with your application, and your credentials.

Then again, it all depends on what college/university you want to apply to.

haha yeah! goooooo asian parents! not.

if you take AP courses, i expect your GPA to be much higher, because of the extra .5.

7.0? wierd, ive never heard of that one. i think were on 4.0, but of course there are AP exceptions. i cant decide whether i want to take AP or not though, i dont want my gpa to go down even further than it already has, so i didnt take AP world history this year, but i havent decided whether ir not to take AP lit, IB lit, or wait until senior year to start AP

Just to let you know, from a fellow xangan/createblogger that had advanced world history during her sophmore year and passed with flying colors and is now taking AP US History... It's really tough. You have to be able to write quick. And usually, there's in class essays. Those essays should be written in proper english and whatnot.. So I remember when my friend, who was in regular english and wasn't good att writing essays, she came in that class and was so confused and scared... she dropped out. If you think that you can deal with all the hard work, then I say, gof or it. But that class is when I have to stay up to do the work.. And I ended up reading at least 1 chapter a week.. It's been 7 weeks and we're on chapter 11. And we went through each chapter. Of course, that's how it is over here in California =X

back to the subject.. patrick_star... what grade are you in?
