did your parents ever teach you their native language? my parents were born in the philippines and they never taught me tagalog(filipino language) even though i know a little. i really wish they did teach me

Yes i did learn vietnamese when i was wee young. And then i struggled in school because i had no idea what there were saying....>.< yup but i lost my native tounge....it's really sad to think i lost it after a few years of school.

it was my first language.
after i got into kindergarten, i dropped it for english. i took chinese school for several years, but dropped it last year- no time. |

My parents are Chinese. My dad doesn't speak it very well so they never tought me any. It was my granny who tought me Cantonese. I learnt Mandarin from Mandarin dubbed Korean dramas.

Yet, I can speak it as if I were a fob. It's just something I picked up naturally. |

im cambodian and both my parents are..so i speak cambodian...i understand it pretty damn good...cambodian is spoken around the house, but i respond in english..but when my grandma speaks it...im lost for words...lol...

My parents both have different native languages, but they both speak Vietnamese often, they never taught me, but I guess I sort of "picked it up" from hearing it so much.
