The PSAT's, don't they make you go crazy?

Ok the psat's were today... I went crazy. I hate tests!!!!! So how'd your experience go? I'm lucky we got out at 10:30 but still... I'm gonna be so nervous when I take the Sat's..... Gosh my mum says it affects where ya go to college. I was hoping in going to either fashion design school or art school.... AIULondon!

first of all..psats arent real.. so.. they shouldnt cause so much stress. its just to test your current knowledge. you arent even supposed to study for them. and second; threres a topic on this already.

only affects national merit, which looks good on college apps.

my friend didnt make national merit [he got like a...210?] and got like 1550 on his SATs. dont sweat it.

i took the psat's today too! eh... the articles were sooo long and i had no intrest in them... which made answering the questions REALLY hard >.<

except i hated that reading about that psychology crap.
i probably did horrible on that.

Lol. Yeah, the two passages talking about parapsychology were kinda boring.

My favorite question was the one about whittling, and how it was "reclining" rather than declining _smile.gif

but seriously, guys, we shouldnt discuss the questions/answers. some people haven't taken it yet. and if they see this, they'll do better, so the scaling/curve for the PSAT wont be as high, so everybody loses :(

if theirs are scheduled on a different month, its a different test.

oh good, on the other topic they seemed to disagree.

i didnt think they were that bad. im not going to go as far as saying they were easy, because then ill end up with an awful score, but they were a lot easier than last year

and what happened to the analogies?

^the test the class of 06 and beyond take is a new one.

They got rid of the analogies for you guys, and you guys get to write an essay!

Although, i heard u guys didn't have to write an essay today, you will be doing so on the real SAT I test wink.gif

yeah, there's no essay on the new PSAT, but there will be an essay on the new SAT...
i take the PSATs on Saturday, and i'm not really worried about it. just on some of the critical reading and the writing sections.

so yea i actually thought they were easier than last yr, but i didnt finish some of my sections, i always have problems finishing tests, i wish they would give us like 5 more mins on each section wink.gif but ohwell so yea i hope i get a good score. one of my friends last yr wuz one point away from national merit scholar she cried alot, but man i'd be happy even if i did that good, but i'd still be mad though lol

10 sections, eh?? The "old" SAT has 7 sections. And I'm at the test center for 4 hours. Just think, you guys'll be there for about 4 and a half or even 5 hours! haha

yeah, i heard about the essay but as we didnt have to write it i thought they hadnt changed the test yet. but its fine with me, the writing skills part is what im good at, i got almost a perfect score on it last year

i took mine last yr. i go tlike 1220 or some shiite. and it REALLY doesnt matter. the only thing the psats are for is for that national merit scholarship crap, and u have to do REALLY exceptionally good on the psats to egt into that so its not even wroth pushing urself for it. its just good to get used to the format and use teh result sof the psat to prepare urself more for the actual SAT
