I'm pretty sure this belongs in technology, but anyway..

Does anyone use DSL instead of dialup? For some reason, these past two days, my DSL model machine thingy was ringing and it sounds like a phone ringing, but it's coming from the machine. (I'm not joking). Does anyone happen to know why this happens??

I would ask my brother, but it only happens when he's not around which is really strange.

Hmm. Not exactly sure why your dsl modem is ringing. Maybe you losing your mind. hehe.

I would have a expert check your modem to see if where it coming from. If it working and you could go online, I would ignore it.

Yeah it is working. It just kinda freaks me out because I don't see why it would ring. Unless it's a telephone than yeah...but a DSL machine. Weird.

No I am not losing my mind. My mommy heard it to.

If you just recently got your dsl. You can call your service provider tech support and talk to them about your modem. You need to know a few things such as your modem type and account info i think.

Maybe you have that globaldialer program, that calls 1-900 numbers. I had a friend that had that, and he had $300 in phone bills. But I could be wrong, I have little experience with DSL.
