I use to love both rock and rap but i put all of those down i dont really know what i like. i use to loathe rock but it kinda growns in you depending what it is. Maroon 5 made me like rock.

1. a lot of rock sounds the same
2. doesnt seem like you need a lot of talent to make a rock song. Unless its playing the instruments. 3. whats the point of rock music in the first place? 4. I dont think the way they "sing" is considered singing 5. theres not a lot of variety to rock 6. I dont know whats up with all that head bangin mosh pittin crap |

A lot of the lead singers can't really sing that well. A few of them actually have quite irritating voices.

1) like roxanne said, loooads of lead singers can't really sing. but then they still have their songs playing 2398471 times daily on the radio.
2) a lot of rock sound the same, really. No, ask yourself, honestly. but the ironic part is.. I dig rock. |

Yeah, but all this stuff can be for rap too o.O
1. Some rappers have annoying voices too like JaRule or whatever for example. You call that music =/ 2. A lot of rap ARE the same, or SOUND the same too Do things that apply for only rock, cause those apply for a lot of music :/ |

Again that can apply for a lot of types of music -.- But oh well.
I think rock is more about instrumental than lyrics, but they both matter a lot. Singing, they wouldnt be out there if they sounded bad o.O iunno, give examples? |

with most of the mainstream rock, the singers tend to NOT have very good voices, yet the music is still very good, and i like most of it. some songs just get really annoying after 6,516,531,785,631 times on the radio a day. but outside of the mainstream, there are some very talented singers out there.... for example : Davey Havok of AFI, Jade Puget of AFI, lead singer of Franz Ferdinand, Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin, lead singer of the Killers, lead singer of the Darkness.... theres a lot but i'll stop there.

Rock isn't all screaming...that's heavy metal. I can't stand heavy metal. But I LOVE ROCK! Sometimes I listen to rap too. =) |
