I stepped into the doorway,
And saw what must not be seen,
I thought my eyes deceived me,
But I knew he was a fiend.

My mother was sitting there,
With a hand upon her cheek,
My father standing over her,
With a hand rose rather bleak.

Emotions running through me,
I wondered what I had seen,
Frightened, and despairing,
I ran and hoped not to be seen.

My mother tried to explain it,
My father tried as well,
But the feelings inside me,
Knew not all was well.

I brushed it off not knowing,
The vast hole left in my heart,
While I pretended all was forgiven,
The pain still crept in my thoughts.

Now it has returned again,
The pain that the night had brought,
But I can’t bring myself to tell anyone,
For fear of what they thought.

So now no one will ever know,
The pain within my soul,
For I won’t let anyone in,
To see the pain in whole.

Edit: Ummm yeah... I kinda wrote this after a while... It is a true story...
