COLORGUARD, ...anyone?

I did Colorguard/Winterguard for 2yrs in Middle School and 4yrs in High School...Anyone else in it?...know about it?...ever wanted to do it?...

I know a lot of girls did it biggrin.gif ...and thats why my friends and I joined in the first place...but then I actually got good at spinning...and was capt 8grade year...and all 4yrs of High School... cool.gif

They help the band. They are the people twirling the flags at footbal lgames and stuff.

im in marching band and we had exibition tonight and one band had 2 male colorguarders. we were impressed and in awe. even though they werent that good...but it turned out to be because of the show, which was latin type stuff, so they needed the guys for dancing

another band had one guy last year and he was really good, but he must have graduated because hes not there anymore

o we dont call it colorguard? or is it called a colorguard, but anyways we have the drill team and the flag team to do it...heh it's sad that i didnt make it to drill team well cause i wasnt there, i was sick at home all the time sigh

COLORGUARD IS NOT Cheerleaders for BAND!

The Colorguard spins Flags, Rifles, Sabres (swords), Shields (Identification Shields which usually spell out the school name or mascot)...they march in front of the band and they do a routine to the March the band plays...

Winterguard...is when the colorguard (by itself without the band) puts on a show to a song or a mix of songs which usually has a theme...using flags, rifles, sabres and dance movements...this is often more staged and theatrical
