hahaha...if that's what you think...I KNOW...I've gone through it...so dont tell me...hehehe

i have friends who have done the IB program, including my best friend's older sister, and they have gotten sh*tty grades because it was so hard, and then some colleges (state colleges even) disregarded their applications because the grades were so bad; whereas, if you were in AP and got bad grades they would take that into consideration. Plus AP classes are harder to get into than IB classes. In my experience, anyone was allowed into IB as long as they could do the work. I mean hell my boyfriend's taking IB classes and he's not even that smart. Maybe it's different for you, but where I lived in Portland and where I live in Atlanta, it's the same. Maybe you just got good grades in IB.

yea my school does have to take the dual enrollment entry test in order to take DE classes and i wouldnt know if ap is harder than de because my high school dosent have any ap classes _unsure.gif

I know that's not what I mean, in the middle of the year we have to take an AP exam which is hella hard and is a national test, and if you pass you get AP credit (aka college credit) and if you don't then you don't and that whole year was worthless.

hahaha...true...I think it's because I got good grades...

so to anyone lookin into AP or IB...don't do IB if you know youre gonna struggle...but if you take IB anyways and start failing...DROP OUT of it...take AP instead...you'll benefit from it...IB is some HARDCORE sh!t...I only got through it cuz I have the smartest friends in the world...hahaha...my friends are AWESOME...

thanks for this Discussion...I thought I was the only one who knew about it around here...hahaha

You mean Honors classes, right?

actually ... no

pre-AP are the "pre" "advanced placement" and that is honors.

the actuall AP (advanced placement) class offers college credit... which honors and pre-AP don't.

i'm in AP Latin IV and AP world history.

thats a lot considering i'm a sophomore.

AP classes are indeed hard...but trust me in the long run, even if you fail (you should fail though:blink: ) is definitely worth it. Took AP bio in highschool and now that i'm in college and it is EXACTLY the same thing.

All y'all taking AP classes: Hope to goodness that you get at least a four on the AP test. The AP classes look nice to colleges and raise your GPA, but if you want actual college credit, you better get a four.

World history, US history, Physics B, Calc AB. Currently in Psych & Studio. Hoping to take AP Econ next semester.

These classes are fun, but gotta do lotta work. It's good to go indepth into these subjects... my AP experiences have been good, but for the most part it's my teachers that make it all the better.

I took AP Composition and Literature (English Language) last year, and got a B in it. I got a 2 though on the test because I only did two outta the three essays. oh well.

And this year, I'm taking four AP classes:
- AP Art History
- AP Gov't/Economics
- AP Physics
- AP English Literature

I originally had 5 AP classes, but I got out of AP Calculus AB because I didn't need it, and I didn't even sign up for it.
