The books were better in my opinion b/c it gave u a better image of whats going on instead of it being spoiled by big screen cinematics -_- they skipped parts too so yea that killed it lol

Ehh.
I've only seen one movie, and it bored me to death.
Not sure. I'm not really into that whole.. fantasy/adventure type stuff, but yet I love Harry Potter. XD I'm somewhat of a hypocrite, eh?

Anyway, maybe I should try a book.
I think the movie bored me because I was lost and didn't know anything about it. If I had read the book prior to watching the movie, then maybe I wouldn't have been so bored and so lost.
*shrug*
Maybe I'll check one of the books out from our school library.

I loved the movies! and i loved the books! They were so beautifully written and even though the author can talk about a hill for 3 pages long, it's still good. The movies were great, even tho they had to skip some parts! but only becuz they didn't want to make the movie 5 hours long! But i choose the movies over the books because i could sit down n' watch the movie netime, but the books i have to be in the right mood happy.gif

i am ashamed to say it, but i have to go with the movies. they were amazing and beautiful, but i havent managed to make it through the books yet, because im still holding a grudge against that damn hobbit (how can you spend like 5 chapters walking through a forest? OMG ITS A TREE! LOOK, ANOTHER ONE!!!! AHHH A SPIDER) ehem...the books are horifically boring and i love nothing more than a good book. its the only movie adaptation ive ever seen that ive actually prefered, but i do prefer it

i think the books were better because they told alot of the history of middle earth and it really got my imagination going. the books let me imagine it the way i saw it. some parts were boring and confusing. blink.gif

Read all of the Middle-Earth books except the Silmarrilion(sp?), which I plan on getting very soon.

I like the books. The movies, however, were masterpieces. I still prefer the books.

They are both good for their own reasons I guess. The books let you use your imagination, and the movies were awesome but they left some stuff out. The books at some points got incredibly boring because of the really long descriptions and all the singing. Those hobbits and elves sing too much.
