Oh wow. It rained all yesterday. We got floods and everything. The neighbor down the street had to empty her basement with buckets. And...they shut off our water here because sewage water is getting into our water system or something. huh.gif

It came last night, it SUCKED.
It was barely raining where I lived (near DC), and two tornadoes touched down like 10 miles away.
sad.gif mad.gif
Then the Emergency Warning Notification system with its annoying beeps interrupted my TV watching.

.. Was pretty windy and dark at times though.

I live in NJ too - North East Jersey in Bergen Country and we're getting destroyed. I woke up and saw blowing trees and shi!t. Yeah, it's DEFINITEY bad - but it's our hurricane season anyway, so it's not unusal.

I can only imagine the Nor'easters we're gonna get this year wacko.gif

Well...I used to live in NE Jersey, I live in Hackettstown in Warren Country, now - but, my parents live in Fair Lawn, and if you don't know what that is, or where that is, it's across the bridge from paterson. and I know you know Paterson.lol

Well, none of you that have posted actually live where the hurricane first struck... when it was still a HURRICANE and a category 4, at that...
I, on the other hand, live on the Florida panhandle 45 minutes east of Pensacola... The Gulf Coast is known for its beautiful white sands and clear waters... but the white sand dunes that we once had are now gone. Everything is different... and nothing will ever be the same to me, anymore... I went to Pensacola last night to visit my dad... and the devastation is not something pretty to look at... it seriously depresses me to see that so many people are now without a home...Mile long lines just to get water and ice... 3 hour lines at gas stations just to fill up your gas tank to your car... or to fill up gas containers to take home to an $800 dollar generator that just keeps a fan going to cool you off in the hot night... So many trees are down in the historic downtown.. street lights are no more... People's cars, even... crushed by trees that snapped while Ivan's winds blew through... and stores that are now out of business... It's sad to see that 90% of the entire city is STILL without power... Luckily, my power was just turned back on 2 hours ago... I've been living without power since Thursday... and it has not been fun... It was SO hard to sleep at night... This has honestly been the WORST hurricane to ever come through the panhandle that anyone has remembered... I don't ever want to experience another hurricane that causes this much of damage... But, thanks to all the other states that have been sending power company trucks and disaster relief support down here.. It's been a HUGE help... And that's the end of my story...

Here are some pictures of some damage:

Once I get more, I shall post.

I live in Florida...it SUCKS so much. We've been hit with pretty much every hurricane. A little bit of Bonnie, all of Charley, all of Frances, all of Ivan, and now all of Jeanne. There are so many people dead from these stupid things. It's so bad cry.gif . But, we finally got our power back on yesterday. All of the limbs from our yeard that we picked up got blown right back into our yard mad.gif . It sucks that you missed your first soccer game. I play soccer too and we've had to cancel almost every practice and game. We've had 3 practices and 3 games. We should have had A LOT more. I HATE HURRICANES!!!! lol
