In a couple of months i'm going to find a job and start saving for my car and start becoming a ricer ^__^.

I was just wondering what direction some of you fellow gear heads are going or to some of you people out there what direction would u go in.

sleepers are dangerious...if you're not dropped and have good suspension ur ass is giong to fly if u hit a pebel going 140

easy prob. all show and go. i mean lookin good is nice but goin fast is good too. but havin both means lots of respect. so i say save alot of money and do both

i would get me a 95 civic hatch and be a straight up sleeper, and race all them domestic cars just to see the look on there faces. and i would rather have go then show, b/c u would just get more respect be faster than any other ppl in your area. and plus you'll be know for having the fast car, but sometimes that is bad b/c u might get jacked.

put a little of both into it, if you show has no power then it dead in competitions.

for the show:
start off with rims (because there noticiable), then move on to the body kit. after that the spoil (any). sound sytem (up to you). and the rest is up to you

An engine is basically an air pump. Air comes into the engine, its mixed with fuel and the mixture is ignited. the explosion from the mixture forces the pistions down resulting the gases to come out of the exaust. Meaning that you car MOVES

horsepower: start off with an exuast system. (about $600) i recommend greddy. it gives your car some balls, plus the aggresssive sound. then a cold air intake system from AEM. colder air means more oxygen meaning more air into the engine. (cold air system about $400, cold air intake pipe alone about $189). from there you go to handling mods like slotted brake rotor. and you could choose adjustable coilover kits or lowering springs kits for you handling, helps on turns. theres endless possible mods you could do, its up to you where you want to go with you car as long as you got the money for the parts. you could do a skyline conversion with the legend too if you wanted too.

note: test your car out on a dyno first to see how you car. then do you modifications. its better that way since you'll see the improvement you car did with the mods.

btw i dont like those azn exaust O_O they freaken loud.. ide get myself a... magna flow exasut. all american :) haha.. umm AEM V2 Cold air intakes are good, get an engine swap to Type R =D umm headers are good, cam gears, racing trasmision O_O, better fuel system :), injectores, fuel pump ect, pistons, pulleys, rods, the good stuff to make ur engine good enough for a Nitrous set... ZEX Nitrous is good, a turbo charger wouldnt hurt but i prefer a Trubo kit because you can get more outta it =D n since ur gunna get more outta ur engine.. make sure u buy brackets. so yea.. haha

I think you should just do an all go car... meaning a 'sleeper'... my boyfriend wanted to do that with his car... but his car is ugly stock... LOL laugh.gif since the car I have right now is an automatic (it's my mom's old car handed down to me) there's no point in trying to make it go faster...it's a eclipse btw, but i'm going to get a miata later on and fix that up.... i'm hoping that the US gets the non-convertible miata from japan (I saw it at SEMA)... it's really nice... yeah it's still small, yeah it's a little girlie... but hey... it beats a civic any day in my opinion... I hate civics _dry.gif biggrin.gif

LOL!! you're great also.. I HATE them with a passion also... IMO, they're ugly, slow, and when people put exhausts on them... ugh... it just has this horrible sound to them... it's all high pitched or something.. they're just soooo fugly... biggrin.gif

i agree O_O haha i dont like exaust on them.. AND i dont like jap exaust -_-... get real american exaust laugh.gif from magnaflow!!!

errrrr _dry.gif i was looking for an eclispe but they're all like $10,000-up in in the newspaper, even the used ones too. they don't make the older models 99-down anymore. does your eclipse happen to be an eclipse gst/gsx/gs? whistling.gif

asian exaust systems gives your car balls. domestic exaust are all whimpy sounding. yea sometimes the exaust could be sounding to loud though, man im trying to sleep and all of a sudden i wake up to this motorcylcle noise outside and saw a car out there. bastards making me lose sleep. mad.gif yea all those mods would be good, but money comes into play. a engine swap is like at least $1500-up. not all cars can get turbo kits/superchargers. man, after all those mods. i don't think there'll be any more room in the engine space to put anything else in.

for one thing.....since most of the time import enthusiasts tune japanese cars..wouldnit it make sense to BUY JAPANESE PARTS for your JAPANESE CAR.....magnfaflow<---wtf....ahhhahaha........

Tell you what... I know what I'm talking about. I run a performance shop. Wouldn't it make sense to buy an american car since you problably live in america? Don't be stupid. You don't buy parts for a car because they're made in the same country. You buy parts for a car because they WORK. Should we boycott Garrett turbo's for our "imports" because they're made in america? Should we boycott MSD ignitions? What's wrong with magnaflow mufflers? Do you know what the problem is with horrible sounding exhausts on Civics? Most people seem to think slapping straight through 2.5" exhaust on their Civic will make them fast. They'll gain 3 hp and lose 5ftlb of low end torque. Did you know bigger exhaust is not always better? Did you know exhaust scavenging is the effect you're looking for to make maximum power? The "AZN" exhausts are loud for a reason. The reason is stupidity. Most of the loud annoying exhausts are on cars with drivers that buy just a muffler and get some cheesy piping made up. True "AZN" exhausts always incorporate a second resonator to help quiet down the exhaust. Look at ANY brand name exhaust. 5Zigen, Greddy, HKS, APEX.

While we're on the idea of hondas, I bet most of you didn't know that for a past fews years, many many honda's have been made in the US, Canada, or Mexico? Did you know Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi also do the same? Go look on the label in the door jam. If it doesn't say Assembled in Japan, then it's not an import in the sense that most people think. So, to all you people who claim to drive an "import," make sure it really is first. Sport Compact would be the correct term. And no, they're not rice rockets, I won't get into that history lesson.

And don't contradict yourself. How much do you want to bet that "7 sec" hatch is not made up of entirely "jDm TytE" parts? I'm willing to bet there are some MSD, AEM, Spearco, Autometer, and even Garrett parts in that car. Did you know 7 seconds isn't that great? Especially for a tube chassis car? Did you know the JUN Silvia was running 8.88 a few years ago with a FULL Chassis? Did you know Adam Saruwatari's RX-7 was doing 8's also? If you want to talk about full chassis modification, why don't you talk to the v8 powered funny cars that run 4's? If you're going to compare timeslips, you need to compare chassis. You can't compare full chassis to a half or tube chassis car. Apples to apples. If you want to argue, argue like you know. There is no replacement for displacement. PERIOD.

Sleepers are dangerous? Sleepers are not dangerous. Idiot drivers are. Yes, sleeper means a car that doesn't look fast but really is. Just because your car can hit 140mph, it doesn't mean you're a sleeper. Fast doesn't always mean high mph, fast also means fast acceleration. That is the true sense of a sleeper. A car that is superior off the line and in acceleration, not top speed.

Not like a car fully dressed up in vinyl, paint, bodykit, and wheels is going to handle any better.

Also, having a dropped car isn't going to make you handle all that much better at 140mph if you don't do it right. Suspension doesn't have much to do with going 140mph. Aerodynamics does. Do you know the most important factor about going 140mph? Z-rated tires. The worst thing that can happen at that speed is your tire blowing out, not a pebble.

eh i don't like the newer model eclipse (2000-up). the taillights and the head lights don't suit me. and the rigdes on the side of the car. hmm if they (mitsubishi) sold a newer eclipse that has a 99's head/taillight then i would buy it right away but since they don't im not stubborn.gif
