i'ved noticed there have been some rude comments..and i just want to tell you all the sorta keep them to yourselves if you have something else rude to say. because dont you all see what the point of this is? we dont want war we dont want any hatred. we just want world peace. is it that hard? i mean over one little comment it can piss someone off. so again, just keep it to yourselves..

anyways, i just wanted to say, that 9/11 was a very tragic day. very unexpected and i was only in 5th grade when it happened (8th grade right now) i will never forget that day and i hope all of those people in those planes that day rest in peace. i know this is another hard time for those families who lost some family memebers because of that. so, god bless america.

QUOTE(x_hiccupy_x @ Sep 10 2004, 11:26 PM)
i would like to write a letter to my aunt as though mailing letters to heaven was possible.

i lost my aunt in this terrible tragedy.

Its been 3 years but it feels like yesterday when we watched in horror, helplessly as a few people took hundreds of peoples lives in their own hands. As the plane met the WTC, we could only pray that what we were seeing was nothing but a sick sick dream..and that within a second, our alarm clock would wake us up from this frightening dream. but no alarm went off and reality slowly set in. I will never forgive those who did this but there is no point in hating or being vengeful. What is done is done. You should see your daughter. She`s so much more mature now, taking care of her little brother. You would be so proud, i am. Their dad tells them everyday how much their mother loved them and still does. That you're only a heartbeat away and that you're always watching them sleep. You were a great aunt to me. Even though all i have to look at are pictures that we took, the moments and memories will be playing in my mind forever. We all miss you, especially daddy. He misses you dearly and hopes that you're doing just fine. Heaven must be a wonderful place and im happy that you no longer have to endure the pain and suffering that humans go through. You have taught me so many valuable lessons that have made me grown and mature, and even though you are no longer here, you have still taught me a valuable lesson. I will never take my life for granted and i will always thank God for everything i have. Life is too short and it could be taken away from me or anyone i love in a second. I'm sure that we will meet again soon, but until then...

We miss you and we love you aunt melissa...may you rest in peace.

September 11th. That infamous day that will be marked as a day of tragedy and death. No one will ever forget those brave firefighters and police officers who died in the search for the missing and the dead. There will forever be a black mark for September 11th in the history textbooks to come.

and x_hiccupy_x AKA kathleen sun, that was a beautiful dedication and memorial.

with our eyes

with our eyeswe saw one of the most tragic events ever to take place on american soil.
a effect of pure hate.
it has effected us in so many ways.
it has allowed us to grow together and stronger as a nation
but it has also implanted fear.
it has showed us how vulnerable we really are.
this bad dream that we never thought would happen to us
because we are american.
a million apologies could never make up for what has happed.
because with our eyes we witnessed loved ones being lost, people who deserved to live die, and too much suffering.
nobody deserves that
who ever thought that tuesday september 11th at 8:48am that the fate of the nation would change forever
probably nobody
but yet it did
and with our eyes
we saw it all

I'll never forget that day... 4th period... my english teacher turned on the TV, the announcements called up the students with relatives in the WTC, my friend who never cries... cried that day. That day when i walked to Washington Rock's memorial and saw the smoke coming up from where the Twin Towers used to be. It's a day to be remembered and God bless the families who were affected and God bless this country.

I found this online, I don't know the author. If anyone knows, can you please get back to me? Thanks a lot.

THE LADY

I wonder what she thought
As she stood there, strong and tall.
She couldn't turn away,
She was forced to watch it all.

Did she long to offer comfort
As her country bled?
With her arm forever frozen
High above her head.

She could not shield her eyes
She could not hide her face
She just stared across the water
Keeping Freedom's place.

The smell of smoke and terror
Somehow reduced her size
So small within the harbor
But still we recognized...

How dignified and beautiful
On a day so many died
I wonder what she thought,
And I know she must have cried.

I thought that poem was very touching.
Now, I send out my prayers and heartfelt wishes to those who were affected by 9/11 directly, and even those of us who were affected indirectly.
May God be with us all.
