well, before my parents got divorced, i was speaking japanese to my mom, but i only know a couple of words now.

konnichiwa = hello
konbanwa = good evening
ja ne = goodbye
nani = what
anou = umm...
sumimasen = excuse me
arigatou = thank you
arigatou gozaimasu = thank you very much
do itashimadunge = you're welcome
domo = a lot
gomen nasai = sorry
kaijuu = monster [that's what my brothers call me]
kawaii = cute
oyasumi-nasai = good night
sayonara = another way to say goodbye

I wish I did...then I could watch anime raw w/o the subtitles...that and it would be easier for me when I do a flight stopover at Narita or Kansai. happy.gif

Nope, don't know Japanese..I don't even know Chinese fluently. LMAO. My friends can't understand me..

Anyhoo, just bring a Japanese dictionary with you on your trip. Have fun!

Contray to popular belief Konichiwa DOESN'T mean hello.
It means 'good afternoon'. You can, however, use it as a substitute for 'hello' if ya don't know what time it is. (You greet according to time.)

And Ja ne is more of a.... See ya later, not a goodbye.
