QUOTE(xtiffysweetzx @ Aug 4 2004, 11:26 AM)
i believe in reincarnation..but to like a certain extent...i believe if u did bad things in ur life..ull get reincarnated to a lower being...but if u constantly do good..ull get reincarnated to a higher being or ull juss end up in heaven..like mother theresa..def goin to heaven..lol...but yeah...thas my opinion

Yes i believe in reincarnation, but like xtiffysweetzx said, i only believe it to a certain extent. Believing in reincarnation helps me make the choices that i think are good. Because i belive in the 'if you do good things this lifetime, next lifetime you'll reincarnate into something better' part, i try my best to always make good choices, so i can live a safe life and reincarnate into something else better the next life.

Yes I do believe in it. Mostly because I want to believe in it...For me, spending your after-life in heaven or hell is just plain boring. Hell, painful and boring. Heaven, just boring. How could you possibly occupy all that time? This seems like a stupid argument, but I do believe that. Maybe time doesn't, you know, exist in heaven or hell, but I can't imagine spending any...moments in there. Reincarnation is so much more...exciting. The idea of reincarnation makes me much happier than the idea of spending eternity in just one place.

Uh, no..... mellow.gif Why don't you look up the definition of Reincarnation?

And you "definately" do not believe in something you don't even know the meaning of? That's great... just great mellow.gif

I think it's pretty cool, but I'm iffy on it. But if you believe in spirits and them searching for a body to take as its own, yeah, it's possible. A spirit can't live in a dead guy, can it?

Hmm this is a topic that could go on forever, because really, nobody can say what really happens after you've died. Nobodies has come back to tell us. There are people who believe they did, but if that person can say they did it, then what about everbody else? how come other people don't remember? You may say, "well that's because they haven't gone through reincarnetion." In one of my classes we are studying reincarnation and religions that believe that such as buddhism. They believe that every person has been reincarnated before.

I don't remember being reincarneted, and I really don't know but just a little about it, but as far as what I believe, I believe in God biggrin.gif

Studying religion in High School doesn't amount to understanding what that religion is really about because many important aspects of it can be left out or perhaps censored.

One major explanation as to WHY there are a few who happen to remember their past lives while many others do not is a process by which the dead's memories are erased. This process varies by culture.

mellow.gif mellow.gif mellow.gif Listen up people, reincarnation does NOT mean that you don't die, infact, you HAVE TO die, horribly or peacefully, whatever the case may be. The point is, after dying there is an "after death" experience where the soul is reborn into a newborn... etc.

Gah! stubborn.gif

In Hinduism, we believe that every person has nine lives...just like a cat. I don't know too much about it, but yes, you can be born as another animal. And my theory is: It's so rare that a human is born twice as a homo sapien, that they remember their past life. That's why people can rarely rememer their before lives.

aw, that's not cool. saying an idea is idiotic is the same thing as calling the followers of that idea idiots for following such an 'idiotic' idea.

on further note, i believe full heartedly in reincarnation.

happy.gif I believe. Very strongly, too. I've seen some of my lpast lifes and been told about them. I also have a lot of knowledge or fears that can be explained by them. It's not something you can 'prove' or disprove untill you're dead, really..so I cant really try and put 'why' I believe so strongly..I just do. o_o;

I don't believe in reincarnation, but if I learned more and understood more about the subject, then I might change my mind. My parents basically said that if we do good things in this life we will be reincarnated into something wonderful, or something like that.

QUOTE(Kathleen @ Jul 30 2004, 4:40 PM)
Okay, if reincarnation does not exist, why is it that young children who don't know any better tell their parents specifically how they died? For example, a young boy who, as I mentioned in my previous post, is practically a virgin to the world. The only shows he watches are kid shows, such as "Sesame Street," "Barney," etc. Then he starts drawing pictures of a war scene. His mother notices and asks him why he's drawing them. He simply answers, saying that that is how he died. She then took him to a psychiatrist who hypnotized him and he started describing this battle scene from the civil war. They wrote down all his specific details - details as if only a person who was there would know. They went to check up on his facts, and it turned out he had described a battle scene from the civil war, even down to who he supposedly was in his past life. Now, how could this happen? What would his parents get out of feeding this to a young child? It makes you think...

wow i saw that on TV. or something like that.
i believe in it because it's part of my religion and because i've seen a few cases like the one kathleen described.

same here. the first i heard about reincarnation was when i was in the eight grade i thought the guy telling me was joking so i just laughed. i also had another fellow classmate in the 11th grade that believed in it too and told me about it and everything. i still do not believe in that but it was interesting

I think the idea of Reincarnation is extremely interesting. It provides people with comfort. At least you know you will live again.

It's so hard for me to say because i am athiest. So to a point i do because i want to believe in the whole "heaven and hell" concept yet somehow can't. With that being said i think i might be a possiblity but i am kind of on the fence about this topic.
