I think it does. My Mum and my Father are Three Years Apart That's not too bad. But my Aunt and my Uncle is Nine years apart I'd feel more comfortable my age.

i think that it doesnt matter but sumtimes it does. there was a 14 yr old guy going out with a 46 yr old lady and then they got married but it didnt work out. <------ thats just going overboard just dont date ppl that r 2x or 3x yr age. anything else it dont matter

i always go out wiht guys that are older than me.. im 15.. i won't go past the age of 19 though.. my friend has been gettin with a 22 year old and i told her i just think its dumb.. obviously hes cheatin on her and using her.. luckily now i have a boyfriend hes a senior and im a sofmore but ... hes 17 so that isnt that bad

Age is not a matter! In all of my relationships, I've always been the youngest by a year. I'm 17. Now I'm in a LTR with someone much older than I am. I am very happy. Age is an issue if you make it one. "10" year difference. No worries. All is full of love.

it doesnt realli matter. but if its too big of a gap then i dont think it would work. cuz the two wont be on the same level and its hard to understand each other.

*chuckles* After reading all of these, it seems like the general concensus by those who've replied (not the poll) seem to think that while age is sometimes a factor, what's really more important are the feelings.
This is, pretty much, my stance and opinion.

To those of you who seem to hold the "only 1 year difference at most!" stance, just remember that by your own conviction(s), you're limiting yourself severly. I'm not saying that everyone should be dating people who are old enough to be their parents. Just... Follow your heart. It's hardly ever wrong.

That's my stance. Right now, I'm going out with a 15 year old..and I'm 17. It's all gravy, she's extremly mature and im...uh...im not. So we're the same on the maturity scale..which is all that really matters.

I couldnt take advantage of her even if i tried..which is the situation every girl should be in.

Age DOES matter, but I say no more than 5 years apart. I mean, if you're still a minor, the significant other shouldn't be more than 5 years, but 5 years is a big difference. Persoanlly, I wouldn't trust any guys older than me if I dated one. IF i was single, I would only date someone about 2 years older, that's it. # years is okay, but 4 years is a little extreme. It seems a little desperate too, if a guy dates someone that is 4 years younger than them.

There was this guy, he was 14 and he dated this girl who was I think, 8 or 10. I mean, WTH?! They never did anything, just hang out. And all she did was give him a hug. But I mean, that's a little.. Bleh -_-

i voted for no.. but i do believe that it would matter after a certain limit.. and what age the person is at in the first place.. like if a 30 year old guy dates a 17 year old girl.. that would be wrong.. but a 35 year old dating a 25 year old would be better.. i guess.. but doesnt matter what neone says.. if the people are actually in love and not in the relationship for any other reason except for the sake of being together.. then "who cares what neone else thinks?" as long as u dont mind.. and find it a problem
