As for the people who hate on Civics, let me tell you something. Not all Civics are like that, it's the owners who don't know what they're doing. Civics are cheap, reliable, and fuel efficient cars that are almost perfect for students who just received their license. And don't automatically assume any civic you see is slow, look at the SI. If you find it ugly, I can't argue because everyone has their own taste, but it is by no means a piece of sh!t car. It's only most owners that don't know what they're doing and give the car a bad reputation

To the person who started this thread, its YOUR car, do what YOU want to it, don't let other people's opinions intimidate you and your decisions. Cars that are both good looking and fast COST A LOT of money, keep that in mind. I, personally, would go for the looks. Now, after saying that, people are probably going "Oh take me on the streets and i'll smoke your ass", but let me tell you something, not everyone cares about the speed of the car. And almost no one is going to look under the hood of your car in a parking lot and go "damn, nice car". Those comments go to the cars that are tricked out looks-wise and/or with good sound systems, dvd players, etc. You act like having a fast car is so good, think about the safety of you and others. If you have a fast car, you're going to race, and if you race, there's always high danger involved. And even if you don't race, you're going to drive fast right? And driving fast = higher chances of accidents. And if you tell me "no i know better than not to drive fast," then WHY THE H3LL do you want your car to be so fast?!

Hah, talk about respect. This isn't fast and furious where they have organized street races every night. Most people won't even know how fast your car is. But if your car is tricked out exterior-wise, then you're going to have heads turning, people staring, and drooling involved. And the only respect you'll get by being fast is from the people at the tracks and the people you race, which isn't a whole lot.

Ok, well first, dont buy rice, unless it really tastes good and trust me a 4cyl car doesnt taste good.
Buy something with style and class, and that is clean, not these neon colored cars with stickers and 3 foot spoilers that have no functionality to the way the car drives.
Depending on how much money you have, look at buying a nice mid 90's e36 bmw. Tons of class and def. a panty dropper. They usually run around 5-12k depending on what options and stuff you want.

If that is still do much, look into a older bmw. 84-91 e30. These are very strong and fast cars with some work. and only about 1-4k depending how much you want to work on it.

BMWs are just better built cars and will run alot longer with more power, and are alot funner to drive, especially through turns. No need to stopping, bmws are built for the twisties and just take the turn punch the gas and go.

If you still decide to go with rice, which i wouldnt recommend, dont make ur car shitty. keep it clean, no gay ass colors, no unneed spoilers and huge body kits, try and keep it simple. As for exaust dont get the shitty ace exaust that sounds and looks like you put a ding dong coffee can on the back or ur car. And as for the cool air intake, dont waste your money on that eather. 1 or 2 hp isnt going to help much at all. and your not going to get any cold air, one foot from your engine, so its pretty much pointless.

uhh has it ever occured to you that NOT EVERYONE is interested in RACING and SPEED?!? I already talked about that in my first post, go read. If that is your logic, then think about this: Jeans were invented for miners because they needed a sturdy material due to the bad conditions in mines. But then people started wearing jeans because it looked good. So does that make them "wannabe miners"!? NO! Wings, bodykits, carbon fiber hoods look GOOD on cars, so people install them to have their car look good! Now I'm not talking about the idiots who put a mistmatched, cracked, unpainted bodykit on a car, or the ones who have an aluminum wing as their ONLY mod, I'm talking about people who know what they're doing and are interested in making their car nice on the exterior. Sorry, but I gotta reply to this one. Don't impose your "idea" of style and class upon other people. Believe it or not, people have their own opinions on what style and class is. You obviously love BMW's, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, when you start dissing other makes and models of cars because they are from Japan or they run on 4 cylinders, you are crossing the line. Therefore, lets see how you can back your uneducated opinions. In what ways are the M4x and the M5x series engines in E36 BMW's better than say.. a SR20DET or QR25DE? Have you heard of Nissan's VQ series engine or Toyota's 2JZ? Did you know that the 2JZ in STOCK form can put up over 600+ RWHP RELIABLY? Did you know it has been pushed over 1100? Did you know that the SR20DET has been swapped into numbers E30's, but not the other way around? What?!? You say? A 4 cylinder in my beloved BMW?!? Don't be stupid.

That is just an arrogant statement. You honestly think that a e36 or e30 sedan will out handle say a... Miata, 350Z, Corvette? No need for stopping? Built for twisites? Yes, a 4000lb car built for twisties. No need for the brakes? Turn, punch the gas and go? Obviously you have never driven in "twisties" or you have watched too much Initial D and think you can just drift through the corner. You certainly have something to learn about driving if you think you can enter a turn at the same pace as a straight. Lift the throttle before entering, and accelerate after you enter the turn? Perfect way to initiate a drift. Don't be stupid.

I have a E36 323is in my driveway and my S14 240sx. I can tell you now, stock for stock, the S14 will take the E36 with no problems in the "twisties." Modified, I can pull almost 1g on the skid pad, run 11's reliably, AND get 28mpg.

If the poster does decided to go with "rice," who are you to judge for him what colors are "gay," what body kits are "huge," and what is or isn't "simple." You might not like a color, but perhaps he does. If he decides to build a car, he is building it for himself, NOT you. If he likes it, then let him do what he wants. Do we tell you that hockey is a dumb sport? Do we tell you what clothes to wear or what music to listen to? No. Don't tell him what to drive. Don't tell him what is classy and stylish. You obviously know nothing about aftermarket parts either. Although some of the parts are just gimmicks, most parts are actually proven performance enhancers. Don't waste your money on a cold air intake? Do you know what the #1 reason why intakes make power? Less restriction. Having cool air is just a side benefit. A properly designed cold air intake will not take air "1 foot" from the engine. A proper cold air intake will take air from outside the engine bay. If that is not possible, it will take air from inside the engine bay, but there will be a heat shield to block some of the radiated heat from the engine. If you think cool air intakes are so horrible, why don't you take a look at most stock air boxes. Most stock air boxes have a tube that runs from the front of the car to the box. That would be a factory cold air intake. Don't be stupid.

Maybe driving your parents car has sheltered you from all the other great automobiles in the world.

Give me any amount of money that you would spend on a BMW, I guarantee I can build a car that will out handle, out accelerate, out brake, and out corner said BMW.

dude.. don't bother spending any money performance wise on a legend. those cars weigh in at around 3500 lbs, front wheel drive, and the engines aren't the greatest platforms to build on.

when i was 16 my parents gave me a 5 speed camry. could i have made it faster? yes. did i? no. reason being, it's a waste of money. why spend 2 grand for parts when a stock camaro can still eat you alive.

right now i drive an s2000, i'm not even gonna bother with intake, exhaust, header..etc.. because all of that in total will add around 10whp at MOST. i was thinking of going the forced induction route, but then again that costs around 5 grand. save your money, spend it on something useful..

Why do people swaer an import is the sh*t when they just put a muffler on? When F&F came out there was this boom in my neighborhood of imports with that fart sound I hate it. When I drive in my IROC, the sound makes you think power, not of the toilet and new underpants.

My first car was a 240sx its my dream car and i spent 4 gs and another 3gs for a sr20det on it and i put intake, straight exhaust(illegal) and took out the fuel govener, with racing cams i was pulling about 328 hp dyno tested .I put my intake low to the ground and one day i ran over a puddle and it died forever. I junked it
water was in the engien i didnt no about that. But if u need help pickin a car and getting the best prices on a car u want and as i can c u into drifting talk to me on aim so i can answer all ur questions. AND ALLL ECLPISES ARE SLOW EXPECT GSX 99- down!!!!!!!!!!!! TO ROXY BABE!!!!!!!!!!! HERE's MY CURRENT CAR MAZDA RX7 and itll smoke that iroc about 5 car lanes hahahahaha 453 hp to the wheels thx to my twin tubro set up !
