don't you just love it when you do the right thing when you know you could have done the wrong thing and gotten away with it?
today i returned some shoes that i bought a little less than a month ago (during tax free week...a texas thing). the shoes cost $54 so that's all i paid when i bought them. however, when i went to return them today, the cashier gave me $59 because he gave me tax money that i didn't pay. so being the good guy that i am, i was like "hey, i didn't pay this much for these shoes." and he realized that i was right and said. "wow thanks for being so honest. there aren't many people like you nowadays." i don't have the $5 that i could have used to buy lunch or something, but i know i did the right thing, and that's all that matters |
