it's sort of funny how ppl think i'm anorexic or soemthing.. dude i love my food lol. but i have to admit i do have bad eating habits, especially since it's the school year and everything. but ppl shouldn't let how they look or how they want to look take over their life.. good luck and GOD bless everyone who has to deal w/ this issue. ermm.gif

If you constantly think about your weight and you still think you're fat, and you BARELY eat anything [an apple a day, etc] then...yeah, I think you are anorexic. But if you're fine with your weight now [as you should be], then you might just have a fast metabolism.

Errr... I'm bulimic. I'm trying to quit but it's hard. Growing up, I was a fat kid so my Freshman year I got sick of it (I was 75 lbs over-weight) and lost weight (Down to 130) the healthy way, diet and exercise. But I had problems keeping it off (95% of people who go on diets end up gaining it back) and I wasn't about to lose something I worked so hard for. The only way I could think of maintaining my new weight was puking up what I had eaten. Then, you might say: just cut down on what you eat and you won't have to puke up your food. Some people, eating is how they deal with boredom or anxiety and I happen to be one of them so I just put food in my mouth without even realizing it... Eating is a way of comfort for me. So yeah, puking it up is what I found the best way to keep it off. It's much easier than running it off.
I'd rather stay a size seven/eight then go back to a size sixteen. Wouldn't you?

I'm fully aware of what can happen to me. Esophagus damage/cancer, eroded teeth, irregular heart beats, etc. But it's pretty difficult to break a three-year habbit. Many people think you lose weight with bulimia, no, it's just a way to prevent weight gain.

And yeah, they are mental diseases. It's usually (but not all cases) because the person has low self-esteem and think if they get thinner people will like them more. Which, I've found, is true because the world is pretty shallow. Eh, anyway... I strongly advise people to not get into eating disorders. Honestly, yes, they do get the job done (weight loss, weight managing) but in exchange you become weak and have plenty of health risks. Eventually, the disorder ends up ruling your life.

EDIT:
Oh yeah, some people say if it's a mental disease why not seek help/therapy for it? The problem is, it's a shameful disease (obviously, most of the posts on this thread were saying "it's gross") and people who have it are very secretive. I don't care to tell you people because I don't know you and I don't want anyone getting into it. But, none of my friends or family know. If they knew they'd be very ashamed of me... Not to mention, I don't want them worrying about me.

Hm.. so i was looking through all the Xanga featured content, and all I found were these EXTREMELY scene kids and their "thinspirations" (saying no to food. "I'm too freaking fat even though I weigh 80 freakin pounds". I want to be skinny. I want to be skinny...)

W. T. F. Seriously. And guess what? All their comments are from people who actually support them! Why are there so many of them, and why don't they just go eat a freaking bowl of ice cream and a bag of potatoe chips?? Drown all their woes of being so-called "toothpick skinny and at the same time pretty" in mouthfuls of fat. Being that skinny ain't gonna happen, honey. Well, maybe it would, unless you want to end up in the hospital, err , the coffin. Gah! Erg, they're just people who have no lifes and open up some fake, lame journal about their f**king anorexia. GRR.

Anyone notice this? stubborn.gif

Yeah have to seen bunches of those. You have to keep in mind though that anorexia is a desease. Some people girls are willing to risk dying to be skinny. I have read some these journals though and most are just bullsh*t. They just want to be skinny because its the "in" thing. Now that makes me sick

Yes i've seen those, and i've had friends that have that problem. Guys and Girls. But it doesn't make me mad. I feel sad about it actually, and anorexia is a disease like kiera said. They could indeed be 80 pounds and stare at themselves in the mirror and really see 170 pounds. Or they would be healthy, but have a few parts of their body that they dislike and think are fat. The thing is, instead of eating and eating to comfort themselves, they don't eat to comfort themselves. And the pressure nowadays to be extremely thin, adds to it greatly.
and what you said here..

QUOTE

do you really believe that? If this bothers you so much, don't read their online journals. The thing is, is that they are very self-conscious. but they do have lives, and there is nothing fake about it. Not all people do this to get attention. Sometimes its hard for people to understand it if they've never been through it, or if their friends haven't been through it. But still...it's a serious matter.

They're really sad. They just don't know how beautiful they really are and sometimes end up being tad ugly after they're thin.
These people should really stop.
And I can't believe their commnets are from people who support them.

the reason is, because pro ana girls flock with other pro ana girls, for support because the entire world has a habit of instead of trying to help them, putting them down, thrusting them to look futher into the disease. I know, I've been there. A lot of the girls have no one to turn to, so they stand for eachother. When I was going thru my extreme dieting/eating disorder fase, I got probably 6-20 props a day from these girls. they just wanna help eachother know they arent suffering alone. Really what needs to be done, because a lot of the girls are depressed and cut themselves along with stavation, is people need to be more supportive in helping them conquer the problem, because anorexia is a disorder. You are mentally handicapped in a way. And so many people are like you stupid idiot you are so superficial why dont you just die, which makes them more depressed and makes them hate themselves more. So yeah. go to a pro ana site, its very compelling and very scary. I still cant to one because I start wanting to go overboard and diet and crap. Its hard. so dont be so quick to judge those girls. You would want to be judged if you had severe mood swings due to manic depression would you? Its not like its your fault. A lot of these girls try to help eachother get to where they want to be and get out of the situation. Many of them write about going to rehab or whatever its called, so that they can over come the problem. Its a very scary world. And its starting a lot younger now a days too. THere are 8 and 9 year olds thinking they need to diet. So the best thing to do is not judge them or put them down, just pray for them, or just leave them alone.
