if you say that following your heart is that you don`t wanna go out with him then i advise you to do so... i mean the worst thing that could ruin a friendship is going out with that person and end up getting hurt and not be talking to each other at the end...

ahhh~~well of course you should do what your heart tells you tooooo!!! haha~which means not going out with him...I guess...? Anywayy...if he sincerely is your best friend, then he'd understand your decision. After all...you're probably more likely to ruin your friendship with him if you go out with him unwillingly.
