I wish that cartoon guy who walked around giving everyone hugs in the Badly Drawn Boy video would give Bill O'Reilly a hug. Le sigh.

A decent article (for once) on the biggest a-hole to ever live:http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story...-player=unknown

You shouldn't really call FOX news crappy and sleazy just because you disagree with the stuff they air. The guy who owns the network is a right wing conservative so naturally, the shows on the channel are going to reflect those kind of ideals and opinions. You just have a different point of view, that's all. It would be more accurate to say that FOX news is biased and can't really be considered a news channel. News is supposed to be reported in an objective manner, and that's the thing I don't like about FOX.

haha ok I withdraw my statement about them being crappy and sleazy, I just happened to type that instinctively. However, they still are unprofessional, and the fact that they're biased shows this.

it is fair and balanced, and im not just quoting the show. When Bush screws up or does something Bill O'reilly would've done different he calls him on it. Just because Right wing conservatives are right and it sways that way because of fact is no right to put someone down.

Gaah, im sick of you self-proclaimed geniuses who think they know something just because they did a little research. You have to do more than a little. You have to research the history according to many accounts of all walks of life and decide for yourself if it makes sense and which has the higher amount of consistency. If you are going to question something just dont fly off with the first doubt that comes into your head and find data that supports it. You have to question that data and it's sources as well. This is only if you want the truth not something that will help you sleep better at night!!!

Ya know i dont want anyone to quote this and try and debate me on this, im sorry you just cant. so shutup and continue your mindless debat on bill o'reilly and whether or not he kisses his dog on the mouth or not. WHO CARES!

I do not like Bill O'Reilly, but not because of his message.

Bill O'Reilly is a strongly partisan hack. A few weeks ago, he was scheduled to interview libertarian candidate Michael Badnarik on his show. This would've given Badnarik a lot of the publicity he needed. But then a Rasmussen Reports poll came out showing that Badnarik had 3% support nationally and 5% in the key battleground state of New Mexico (this is higher in the polls than Nader was last time). So guess what O'Reilly did? Rather than actually debate someone, he decided to cancel the interview -- because it might've harmed Bush's reelection chances.

I like Bill O'reilly
Almost all of the daily news information on television is crammed with democratic opinions and statements. When he comes on it's a nice change to see some one elses views, and i happen to find alot of his quite FINE

Have you completely lost it?

You must hate every news source then...there truly isn't a pure nonpartisan television broadcast around...which is why I rely on periodicles.

Doesn't mean partisan sources can't ever be taken seriously. So long as they contain credible evidence [see my final John Kerry topic].

Lol. That's not the first time someone has asked me that. tongue.gif

Oh I do. But I find Bill O'Reilly to be incredibly annoying and rude. I swear there's this Bill O'Reilly cult that thinks he's this super god that knows all this stuff but with what he's showing me on his show, he's not very good at debating. You know, there's actually formal rules to debate.

You could not be more wrong. Fox News is probably the most fair channel i've seen.

The thing is, most news organizations are liberal, making Fox News look conservative in comparison. Though I admit, you can take some segments from the shows and make Fox News look biased (like the movie Outfoxed), but overall, I find it has less of a political agenda than the other networks.

I don't think Bill O'Reilly is perfect (I'm still annoyed how he didn't go after Michael Moore agressively enough), but I enjoy watching his program, as do millions of other Americans, and many citizens of other countries worldwide.

[edit] Just now, I saw a commercial for Channel 7 saying avoid the RNC for cheap vacation getaways. Last month, I remember seeing, visit boston for cheap restaurant deals. I saw nothing like this on Fox News during the DNC. How can you say Fox News is the worst?

so what, even though they are facts, it looks pretty obvious that they have a political agenda by telling the people to visit Boston, but to skip NYC.

Um... so should they not report facts?

Visiting NYC during an event is a bad idea ... New York City is built in a wedge between the Hudson River and teh Atlantic Ocean. To get into New York City from Jersey (where most people come from) costs an $8 toll and takes about two hours during the off-season, I guarantee you it will take at least four hours during the RNC. Whereas it takes about 10 minutes to cross the free tunnel into Boston.

To compare how many hours that is, I drove from Pittsburgh, PA to Providence, Rhode Island earlier this year. It took more time to get from one end of New York City to the other than it did to drive across half of Connecticut and all of Rhode Island. When I was in Boston before the DNC, people were complaining about how it would disrupt the traffic and make everyone's lives inconvenient (which is why I chose to go before teh DNC, not during it) -- if this happens in Boston, imagine what it'll be like in New York City.

Fox is to the right of most Americans ... every poll shows this. Granted, all the other news networks are to the left of most Americans, so having a right-wing network is a good thing, but calling it fair and balanced is inaccurate.

bah, i usually take the subway and it doesn't take that long.

you're missing the point, we're not debating whether new york is accessible or not, we're debating whether the news networks are fair.

You brought up as evidence that they told people to stay away from New York but go to Boston -- I'm simply saying that there are other reasons besdies politics, such as accessibility, almost impossible in New York but very easy in Boston.
