Okay...now that I painfully managed to install windows xp after like, 5 hours, I have yet another terrible problem. My stupid a$$ computer is telling me that I dont have an audio device blink.gif I'm just like, what in the effin hell???! My goddamned pc has speakers installed INSIDE the monitor and yet this son of a b@stard is tellin me this?? Seriously! I tried going to the add/remove hardware thing but when I try to install the Multimedia Audio Controller (which I think is the problem...maybe not) it wont install because it cant find any necessary software for it...bleh! mad.gif and there isnt any cd for installing the audio device from the company since its made inside the monitor, sheesh! The pc is supposed to detect it and download it right away, correct?? *sniffles* then why doesn't mine... I have a sound card and everything, and earlier today when I had windows 2000 everything was workin just fine!! How could this happen? And I dont think it was Windows XP's fault when I installed it...

oo bummer then it probably is technical cuz I restarted my pc like 10 times but it still wont work and there are no wires that connect to my speakers since the only wire thats there is the one that connects the monitor (screen) to the computer itself... I'm so confused! -_- *sob* Is ur Multimedia Audio Controller installed, Levy2k6? (in the device manager)

whoa whoa whoa bak up a bit plz. ehhh the monitor should have 3 cords goin out of it: one to the power outlet, one connecting to the pc, and one to the sound card in the pc. thats how it wurks. it will not depend on the montior to pc cable. im sure of it.

and ther should also be a disc that came with the monitor inside the box. the driver.... eh i dunno.. u can google it to find the driver. wat monitor and wat model?

o you are right, lol, there are 3 of them--I'm just completely computer illiterate happy.gif And about the disk...well i bought this pc and monitor as a bundle pack together, and there was definitely no disk for it in the box, and I'm not too sure about the driver part... The monitor and model is Compaq FP 5315

Have you tried googleing for your drivers? Or maybe checking the Compaq site, that'll normally help, but I'm surprised that your comp didn't come with windows XP since if your comp came with an LCD then it must be fairly new.

well it did come with windows xp but my dad installed windows 2000 onto it later on cuz some virus messed it up...I dont know, lol

And oh yea I tried the compaq website plus googling the drivers but i couldnt find anything to help me with this...and the compaq website only had a download for the graphics or something like that which I already have installed anyway... I'm so lost! sad.gif

then that's mean that your audio driver might not be the right one or it's corrupted.

Oh shoot, I hope that its not corrupted _unsure.gif I know for a fact that its the right audio driver since, like i mentioned before, everything was workin just fine when I had Windows 2000. And now, I'm beginning to think that this has sumthin to do with Windows XP.

I just asked my dad to check this problem out since he is a computer programmer and knows like, everything, lol, and even he couldnt find a solution. He told me that this has sumthin to do with the hardware and that sumthin went wrong with it cuz of Windows XP...I dunno. This just doesnt make sense, you know? Lol this frickin computer is made especially for XP, and same with the monitor.

And like I said in some of my other posts in different topics...the virus which I had most likely obtained from Kazaa that destroyed my entire memory card (RAM) probably had sumthin to do with this, too. Like, when my dad tried reinstalling XP after that incident occured, some things werent right after he did. That was why he chose to install Windows 2000. So, that virus, or whatever happened, probably did something to my audio hardware which would only be affected when on Windows XP...well, I dont know but thats my theory. Cuz what else in the effin hell could have made this happen, right? *sighs*

Here's another screenshot I took which is from my device manager. Can you guys access yours from Control Panel --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager and check if you have the ones that I dont? Cuz if so that could be the problem...I hav no clue ermm.gif

wait but wat do u mean "download and install the driver that your device company provide"? Where do I get this driver? And how do I install it? Cuz my device company (compaq) didnt provide any drivers for my monitor and there are none in their website for this specifically...

(and oh yea I sent u a PM earlier but I'm not sure if it really sent or not since my Norton Internet Security has like this firewall...I dunno. Just making sure)
