The way I see it, the only thing worse than labelling someone else a Goth is labelling yourself one.

I really have to agree here.

And quite honestly, if someone else was to label you something...you would throw a fit and say labelling is wrong.

Stereotypes are catagories, and catagories dissolve originality and creativity, for no one fits a stereotype as perfectly as the single person it was based upon.

Shameful, really.

Sort of takes away from the original people out here. _dry.gif

hmm

hmm, a lot of goths are suicidal...ever think about that?

I <3 Goths Goth people can be the most trustworthy people you have. I have three very close friends of mine who are goth. they are so interesting and cool.

I'm also labeled a goth. i really dont understand what or who labels who as "goth" but, i am very dark ((personality wise)), i wear dark clothing, i think about dying, i like the music they supposedly like, and i like going to hot topic ((lol)) but, seriously, it's just me...under all this black clothing and make-up. I jus tlike the style of clothing and makeup and music. DONT CALL ME A POSER.

Goth guy are good looking too, i might add _smile.gif

Actually, there are as many suicidal people in other stereotypes as there are in the category of Gothic. Consider this:

'Gothic' girls would commit suicide based upon a love gone wrong, a life tradgedy or so on..

'Normal' girls would commit suicide for attention, or because they weren't 'popular' or 'recognized' enough..

Sort of makes things vapid, now.

I do realize, though, that this isn't true about all people, and that the focus was mainly on females...it matters naught.

My opinion on 'goths'?
None.

Be yourself and create your own label. Stop shoving everyone else into theirs. happy.gif

something about that whole idea turns me on. i mean like, i dont know why but i think it seems really Eeee-Rotic in a way. i mean it's weird, but like if i see an attractive goth i just get this weird kink. even though i'm like totally the opposite and definetly don't hang out with that crowd. it's just like something that seems so... secksy. i dont know.. maybe it's just me but it's a major turn on, i think guys like that turn me on more than anyone else. but that's just a secksual thing. for relationships i like my nice jewish boyfriend who wears polo shirts and stuff :)

Nope its not just you! biggrin.gif They turn me on too! heh...ehh but I like skaters more than goths... happy.gif but there are some very sexay goths

there was this kid in my class and his name was nick. at the beginning of the year when i first saw him i thought eww what a gross kid.he looked goth. he alwyas wore black had super long hair liked all the "goth bands" but he wasn't goth. then i found out he got honours, was super smart, had a great sense of humor, is an excellent soccer player...etc. point is i labelled him right away and it turns out that he was one of my good friends. i felt so bad that i labelled him in the beginning but it taught me a lesson happy.gif
