Norton sucks as what my own father said. Haha. well, I believe something above norton is good though.

what i use...

ad-aware
spybot S&D
avast! home edition

all three are totally FREE!!! and in my opinion very good.
for avast! (antivirus) you have to go to their site for a registration key, but it's still totally free.

also, i don't know but i'm guessing you use Internet Explorer. well, i use avant browser and i must say it's REALLY good. it uses IE, but has additional features like popup blocker, ad blocker, tabbed windows. really nice looking too happy.gif

their are alot of free antivirus programs out their. If you want a antivirus program that is always on, get Norton Antivirus.

and get SPYBOT and ADWARE To get rid of advertisment stuff that could be on your comp

to get rid of POP UP ADS, I use STOPzilla which can be found on kazaa (be careful, their are virus verison out their)

For Pop-Ups, just stick with a Mozilla Firefox browser..obviously the better choice over IE. But..for IE, I use "Pop-up Manager"...it's blocked over 7000 pop-ups for me successfully, I'm glad :D.

For viruses, I use "Ad-Aware", "Spyware: S&D", "Spyware Blaster", and "Spysweeper".

For viruses that just can't get killed, I use "Killbox" which basically deletes anything that wont delete ...yea.

Also...I do occasional check-ups with "Bazooka Scanner"...great software also. If none of em can catch that one virus I'm tryin to get rid of, I use "HiJack-This", another fine software.

Yea...the Internet is a very dangerous place

Get Norton Internet Security! It has Norton Anti-virus in it, which is pretty good compared to the others, firewall, Adblocking that is EXTREMELY awesome (it blocks like everything, lol.) And plus it also comes with all this other great stuff) I highly recommend it! And Norton Anti-Virus automatically scans your files when you download or install something. So if you go to a website that gives a virus, lets say, it instantly removes it and tells you. I luv it ^_^ Very very handy to have.

But you can also try STOPzilla--its works really well, and for free virus and security scans you can go here. It doesnt remove them though _dry.gif You can just download a free trial of Norton Antivirus or if not then BullGuard AntiVirus.

So just buy Norton Internet Security, it'll be worth it, I'm telling you _smile.gif

i have norton antivirus, but most popups and ads arent because of virus theres these things called spyware and adware and those usually are the main cause of popups i suggest ad-aware 6.0 and that takes away most. and then if theres still popups i would get a toolbar that has a popup blocker (im using the yahoo companion) and it even has a anti-spy and that also took away alot of spyware from my computer
