http://www2.foxsearchlight.com/thirteen/ <<basic info, has some clips
http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox_searchlight/thirteen/ <<trailer
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1124997-thirteen/ <<reviews

have any of you seen this movie? basically, it's about good girl meets bad girl good turn into sex-crazed whore who does drugs (can't forget the eating disorder thrown in there too), at the age of *GASP* thirteen.

i have not seen it, and after reading the reveiws, quotes, and other peoples reactions. it is not something i want to see.

do we need to have another movie streotyping todays youth? we don't.

so, did anyone here seen/heard of the movie, if so what did you think about it?

edit// sorry, wrong fourm blush.gif

I thought it was a pretty good movie... It hits on alot of sensitive subjects that alot of thirteen year olds go through. Stuff like peer pressure, fitting in, depression, experimentation, drugs, sex, and all the other good stuff. The acting in the movie was great, and the ending made me smile. If you went through some bad stuff in life, then you can relate more to this movie then a person who hadnt gone through the hard stuff. The movie isnt one of those "family" movies, but its made for the older teen audience and maybe some parents as well. Hope this helps you out, and i do recomend you see it.

It was powerful and a conversation starter which makes a good movie. Now as for the fact that it might seem a little chliche', what can you honestly expect? It was written by a thirteen year old so I don't think it can be stereotypical because she wrote it about her experiences. But overall it was a nice film.

it was a good movie, just not my type...

i never ever wanna see another 13 year old slut that curses at her mother, screws a guy, kisses her friend, steals, does drugs, cuts herself...

after the movie was over, i was blink.gif ...

twitching.

Crazy movie. I didn't expect the things that I was gonna see. I mean... When I was at the age of 13, I didn't act like them. I guess it's caused by the media and the change of the world that's going SO WAY FAST! Crazy shitzsu...

i still think it was a bit stereotypical because wehn i read other peoples reactions on another forum, they made it look like everyone is like that. so people suggest to watch it with your parents, but really? that would scare the **** out of my parents.

it's no surprise that people do that.

edit// did this movie ever coem out in theatres? i dont remember

After watchin the movie I was in complete awe. It's very intense and consists of things people don't usually talk about. Sure not every 13 yr old girl is like the girls in the movie but there are some out there that are like Evie and (Insert Name of Blonde Chick Here). Not really my type of movie but it's definately worth seeing.

oh and I definately agree with what eboarder2020 said.

yea i saw it. i thought it was a really good potrayal of wat peer presure can do to you. of course as people have already said not every 13 year old goes through something like that. but it does happen. i did not think it was stereotypical. i thought the acting was amazing and the story was well put. this movie is one in paticular shows wat can happen when you do drugs, steal, lie. and it also shows the importance of having a godd stable family. i liked it. and would watch it again.

it's not a surprise. it only is one if someone has not known a teen or been one. there doesnt have to be a movie reinforcing it

I read about the movie online on imdb.com and wow I can't believe some kids are actually like that (since the one girl co-wrote the script basing it on herself) like that. She does drugs, and sex (they cut out a love scene between the 2 girls) and changes herself just to look cool in middle school. This movie would be more believable if she was in High School.
