What sort of blending? Um.. you can go to LAYER OPTIONS and change the blending of the layer.. so the words are SEMI-transparent.. meaning you can see through the words, u can see the background in the words, but u can still see the words lol =X

It's pretty difficult though unless you know what all the functions do...

splash some colors that are near the same tints/shades, use radial blur filter. play around with the dodge tool.

the dodge tool lightens the dark areas. radial blur is under Filter. then go to Blur and there is Radial Blur

1) Make a bunch of spots with black, grays, and whites.

2) Use radial blur (Filter>Blur>Radial Blur) with the settings of 50 as the amount, spin as the blur method, and good as the quality

3) change the brightness and contrast (Image>Adjust>Brightness/Contrast) to 25 as brightness and 15 as contrast (that's what I did at least)

4) Then add a wave filter (Filter>Distort>Wave)

5) Now do steps 1-4 again on another document.
6) Select either one of your backgrounds and paste it on the other.
7) Adjust the hue and saturation for both layers (Image>Adjust>Hue/Saturation) (Don't forget to check the colorized button)
8) Change the top layer from normal to overlay

Voila! You have a nifty background! happy.gif

You should use Photoshop 6.0 (which is what I have). It works well with 98 since I used Photoshop on my older computer.
