it`s illegal when you sell copied dvds or cds. _smile.gif

but when it`s for your own personal use..then it`s not illegal. most of my dvds are copied dvds. whistling.gif they look real...because my dad copies the label and everything.. tongue.gif and yeah..you have to download a program to decrypt the dvd & copy. but it`s bad when there are viruses in your computer because it might screw up your burned dvd.

we don`t like blockbuster because they don`t have labels. so we prefer hollywood video for their labels.. happy.gif

shhhhh!!! hehe..

Its illegal to copy DVDs or Cds that you dont own. If you own the DVD copy and do as you wish, you just cant distribute them to other people.

I've got a collection of like 100 DVD's that exact same thing. Except no labels on discs, those can mess up the dvd's after a while, but there are cdcase inserts so u can see it. The software used in the DVD ripping process is a secret, the newer version isn't as good as the older version, and it has sheep eating popcorn while u rip the dvd, it's pretty cool. It takes up a bit of harddrive space to rip a dvd but I got lots of space so it doesn't really matter.

Oh and for lables, you can just print out lables from the internet, it's that easy.

Oh and back to the OP, I'm assuming your burner is in the computer since you're asking about software, well if you don't have another dvd reader then you need software, actually even if you did have another dvd reader you'd still need software. Hmmm, back to round one, I'd suggest DVD XCopy since that's suppose to make perfect DVD rips but I've never used it before, I've only used the one I have now, and I can't even think up the name, oh well.

it's also illegal to reproduce. this goes for audio and video w/audio.

and whether you buy a dvd or not doesn't matter. under the digital millenium copyright act, ANY copyrighted video is not to be replicated and/or distributed

where are you getting these laws? it says it right there in bigass letters right before you watch the movie:
"federal law provides severe civil and criminal penalties for the unauthorized REPRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION, or EXHIBITION of copyrighted motion pictures, videotapes, or videodiscs."

...i don't know how they would have made it any clearer.

seriously, folks, if you're gonna do something against the law, do it yourself on the downlow... don't go on a forum telling everyone what's not illegal when it actually is.
