Eepp but what does a hard drive have to do with this? pssh.. lol But wow that's a huge ahrd drive... probably really expensive @_@

Anyways bleh Sony is good hahas even though ppl say it isn't. Bleh but the IPod looks sooo nice... sooo shiny.. and then there's that one dell thing that looks like an IPod but isn't.. it's about almost 300 I think. But anyways it holds alot and probably will alst longer.. But IPod.. soo cute!

i have ipod...it gets scratched so easily. I seriously think i wasted my mom and dads money on this but i make like it's really good so it makes them feel better happy.gif . But you shouldn't really be paying more than a $1 per gigabyte of harddrive space. You guys should all just get cheaper ones, ipod only won this mp3 battle because it looks so damn cool.

^not for me...i bought it separately, but its well worth the money. i had it for quite some time, and its still in a somewhat new condition...only a few scratches, none on the screen.

about ipods dirty secret....i mean, i personally think its baloney (i own an ipod), BUT if you do believe it...why not just get apple's extra warranty plan? its ...around 50 bucks, but its well worth it cause it extends your warranty to two years...if the "dirty secret" was true, then the warranty would still be in effect and you could go get it replaced for free. also...i've seen some people who have managed to manually take out their batteries and put new ones in...though i wouldnt recommend it.

also...i think the ipods are better than those napster-samsung and dell mp3 players...after those 4th gens released, its leading the mp3 player market.

now...whether mp3 players are better than cd players...thats another story. i just think its a matter of preference.

cause they're small... and they hold up to like... 50 times more songs so you dont have to go through all of your cds to find certain songs, you can just upload it alllll into that little piece... and just search for it there and play it... my bro has one.. i wonder if he knows about this.....?

"Ipod's dirty secret" was a problem with the early 3rd Gen IPods. With these it was impossible to replace the battery yourself and as such, you'd have to send it in to Apple and spend big bucks replacing the battery. People then started to complain and Apple went uh oh and fixed the problem. Now it ain't much of an issue. It was only with the earlier 3rd Gen Ipods.

And with people saying can't the battery be recharged, if you seriously think a battery than can fit into an IPod could last 18 months you seriously have to rethink your life, or at least batteries or soething. The point is after recharging so many times the battery won't recharge anymore, all batteries lose their charge after being charged so many times.

u probably dont own an iPod. you're right about batteries losing their charge after being charged over n over again...but i know many friends (who introduced me to the ipod a few months back) who have owned 2nd generation ipods for a good two years now, and their batteries are still holding out at least 3 hours.

no...you can get it replaced @ some places for $100....not $300. you can also try getting a do-it-yourself kit w/ a new battery for $50. click here for more info.

all rechargable batteries die loose voltage amount with each charge.

MP3 players need high voltage- so the batteries die quicker. you can still use them for, say a flashlight, but not in the MP3 player (if it's got reg. batteries)

the 18 months a long time for an MP3 player rechargable battery.

Ok, maybe I wasn't clear, but I meant lasting 18 months without a recharge since that's the impression that some people are getting. But anyways, early on I stated 3rd gen, so 2nd gen doesn't really apply. But you are right about me not owning an IPod, if I had that kind of money, I'd probably get me an IRiver I-HP. But I'm probably gonna get me a Muvo2.
