I found this on another forum and its pretty interesting.. what do you people think?
QUOTE Basically, the scenario was that I wished that I had never wished for something. Now, would wishing to have never wished for the previous wish create another dimension, or simply destroy everything that existed beyond that point, and start from that point, or rewrite the point in time that is now "blank" I understand that if you go back in time to, lets say, kill yourself, you wouldn't have been able to kill yourself, so you have infinite recursion, or simpll a dimensional breaking point. And if you travel into the future, you simply don't exist, and if you travel into the past 2 seconds earlier, and keep doing that, you can create matter from nothing, which is pretty cool... So with the wish... how does it work? lol Read and think carefully anyone.. I wouldn't be surprised if this gives you headaches... ![]() |

that stuff is pretty confusing... it's like stuff out of Back To The Future...
i actually got lost and had to read it twice... so what's the question now? |

The question is, "What would happen if I were to wish that I had never wished for anything?"
And yes, I'm somewhat of a science dork that likes this sort of thing ![]() |

well i think that it'll go to your 2nd wish like at first you wished that uhhh you had a perfect body then your 2nd wish was that you wished u never worked out at all....then your body will be like it was before your first wish but you still would have gone thru everything with your normal body...i dunno im confused still

wishing you had never wished for anything cancels itself out... in the process of undoing all your previous wishes, it would undo the wish the you had never made any wishes. its a dangerous wish to make, i mean what happens if once you had wished you had a friend or a nonabusive (insert relationshipname here) you could wind up unwishing yourself into hell. that's why all good fairies know you never grant big wishes.

QUOTE wishing you had never wished for anything cancels itself out... in the process of undoing all your previous wishes, it would undo the wish the you had never made any wishes How would that work, if it canceled itself out and undid that wish that I had never made any wishes, then why would everything be undone? Scenario you're presenting: 1. Several wishes 2. Wishing to have never wished 3. Undoes #1 4. Undoes #2 5. Since #2 is undone, then #1 is reinstated 6. But #2 also comes back into effect, which restarts the loop at #3... So... what you're saying.. in effect, is that it creates an endless loop of sorts.. I apologize for any headaches or confusion that this thread may have caused anyone.. |

Hmm...then I suppose it's just some endless cycle that repeats itself...is that what you believe? That's what it looks like to me.

yeah kathleen... but i also believe the world would bust from overload.... its like telling a blonde in a circular room to stand in a corner. the brain would explode.

i dunno... if i was the earth trying to do all that work, redo wish, undo wish, redo, undo.... etc etc etc... i'd explode. thats overkill... the heat energy released from all the activity would probably melt the earth anyway lol

Hahaha. ![]() QUOTE i dunno... if i was the earth trying to do all that work, redo wish, undo wish, redo, undo.... etc etc etc... i'd explode. thats overkill... the heat energy released from all the activity would probably melt the earth anyway lol For the sake of debate, what about the cycle that goes on today? Think about it. People have jobs they do constantly. That doesn't mean the world is going to explode. |

so maybe it depends on who's doing the wishing and unwishing??? who controls the Wish Company???

hmm..i thnk its lyke a reset point(or w.e its called) on a windows XP..
wen u mess up u can clik on da reset point n it'll go bak to da way it waz b4 u effed upped.. so if u wish to have a cell fone n den wish u didnt wish dat den ur cell fone would be gone..she didnt have to add all da other stuff ta confuse da sh*t outta me..its lyke a math word problem..too much excess info |

Haha ![]() QUOTE so if u wish to have a cell fone n den wish u didnt wish dat den ur cell fone would be gone..she didnt have to add all da other stuff ta confuse da sh*t outta me..its lyke a math word problem..too much excess info Err.. the info was just to provide examples.. The question at hand.. ignoring all other wishes, is that if you were to wish that you had never wished, what would happen? I guess it's kinda like wishing you were never born.. because if wish were granted, then you wouldn't have been able to make the wish..so what would happen then? |

Hmm now that I think about it, maybe time goes on. I mean, you wish a bunch of things, you wish that you never wished, and you go back to where you started before you ever wished. |

I agree with kathleen. dude, im getting so confused tho. i get what everyone else is saying except for the topic poster
![]() iagree with the reset thing tho. its like, if you wish you never hd wished, then it goes back. dunno about eh cancelling out thing tho. |

more confusing is quantum mechanics. i'm reading a book now and my head hurts.
that's simple- wishes don't come true, and you can't travel in time. but quantum mechanics is real. shine a light through a card with two slits, and 6 bars of light show on the other side. 4 extra bars, you figure it out. |

Quantum mechanics is easy.. well the stuff that we did was.. ok ok, its a very theoretical scenario.. it doesn't matter if it oculd happen or not, but what would happen if it were to occur.. blah xp Wait.. are you sure that's quantum mechanics? sounds like what we learn in AP Physics B (electromagnetism) here.. And though time travel isn't possible now, how do you know we cannot find a way; new scientific breakthroughs and innovations were discovered by dreamers, at one point, nothing of what we have in today's modern world existed.. just because it doesn't exist now doesn't mean it's not possible QUOTE I agree with kathleen. dude, im getting so confused tho. i get what everyone else is saying except for the topic poster hahah im so lost. iagree with the reset thing tho. its like, if you wish you never hd wished, then it goes back. dunno about eh cancelling out thing tho Err.. sorrie for getting you lost.. But ok, if it goes back, then what? Would you have a chance to wish all over again? |

well, the 6 bars are made by an interference pattern. however, if one photon is fired at a time, the same pattern turns out.
it's like the photon went both ways. |

'sigh. school starts monday for me.
alright, let's go with timetravel. you can't go to the past. think, in the millions of years in the future, if it's posssible they would have invented time travel and come back already. and, the presence of you in the past would disrupt time, but you aren't suppost to be there, even if you don't kill youself. it's a paradox, you're being in the past will change the future, to the point where you would have never gone tothe future. it can't exist. 3+5= (once you get 8 , the three turns to a two.) the answer is 8 unless you answer 8, then the answer is 7. a paradox- you can never be right. |

Have you proof that they haven't come back? How do you know that being in the past will change the future? Couldn't you just observe things as they occur but not take part in them? Time travel is completely theoretical, yet you speak of it as if you know exactly what happens.. and what the heck do you mean with the 3+5=8 thing.. ![]() |

you cannot obeserve something without changing it. a fact of life. say you're taking the tempurature of a glass of water. the water warms up the themometer, giving you your reading.
but the themometer cools the water ever so slightly. not a big deal when it's a glass. but a drop of water- you could seriourly alter the temperature. |
