Realizations

Lost in a world of confusion
Lost in a rage of uncertainty
It took so long
To realize I’ve been drowning this whole time

Realizations are a painful thing
You are hit a freight train
Crushed by a jackhammer
Gasping for breathe but finding none in your collapsed lungs

Praying for mercy in your darkest hours
Begging for forgiveness in your wrath
Screaming to only to further your pain
Crying for redemption through cursed lips


Reaching out but finding no ones hand
Reaching out only to turned backs
Struggling for a foot hold in this race
Struggling for a reason for this torment

The freight train hits you again
The hammer falls upon your chest
The water goes over your head
The realization hits you


Your breaths become shorter
Your struggles become lesser
Your achievements amount to nothing
Your hopes are blown away right before your eyes

You can’t even know why it all happens
You can’t always get what you want
Sometimes you have to give up
And slip away…
