my school doesn't even know what xanga IS....and besides...i don't take tech tools anyway....and the computer lab is so, so, far away....*sniff*...so xanga is off-limits to me during school. damn!

the school boards are usually smarter than that, they have there own proxies. if the computer doesnt go thru the school board proxy first, there would be no internet access..

for those who have aol blocked on school servers. ever trywww.aol.ca?

http://www.metaspinner-media.de/mdsme/mdsme-docs/proxy.shtml
lemme explain this one. ok so u go on here n type the full url (including http://) but don't visit sites where u have to log in. it runs really slow, but gets through the proxy server. so far it's worked for every website, but i prefer not to go to pages where it requires to log in like xanga or email servers

Some of our school's computers are just like, not even under control. It's got MSN messenger/AIM all these crap installed by the students... so they don't even talk about blocking here. shifty.gif

oh dear, schools can do that!? my school hasn't really found out about xanga.com. everyone in my school uses livejournel i think so they supposedly banned that but its not blocked. my school isn't that smart yet thankfully. but i feel for you... the librarians & school staff still go around like crazy checking what sites you are on.

Yeah, they blocked it out. Too many people that have it at our school. One time I did that(before the blocking) and it saved onto the URL address bar. My picture was on their too, but didnt get caught.

Stupid school. Why did they have to go and do that? Inapropriate content my ass. Grrr.. :[ I'm so angry. What am I supposed to do during computer tech now? XD Oh well, they didn't block XangaNS.com! :D

What do you expect? It's the school's computer you're talking about. It's supposed to be very educational...

Although a lot of people use it for their amusements... *cough* including me *cough*

And there are many ways to get around things... *grins*
