I don't speak Chinese but there are translated Chinese and Korean soaps for rental at some stores... I used to be addicted to them but they get old real fast. The story lines are ever the same or at least so similar that it isn't a big deal someone dies of cancer in the movies anymore; it's expected.
Now they make movies about swimmers, fire fighters, pilots... I mean, there's no good plot to most of them... |

Wow, I just realized we don't have a Chinese channel here. None that I know about, anyway. Here in Hawaii, we get Korean and Japanese channels and the soaps are soooo addicting. I know there's a Filipino channel that you have to pay for, maybe there's a Chinese channel, too, but you have to pay for it.
No Chinese soaps for me, then. There's no channel to watch them on! |

I have soooo many TVB channels on cable. I watch quite a lot of Chinese dramas. Most of them piss me off.

i used to always watch TVB series because they would be dubbed and translated into Vietnamese and so I would always go rent it at the Vietnamese video stores. lately, i have been so into Korean dramas that I haven't been watching TVB dramas at all :( The last one I saw was probably "Triumph in the Skies"!

Sometimes. I watched "Meteor Garden" but cantonese translated so I would understand. Also, there's this investigator series that my parents watch. Sometimes I would just peek in and watch parts of it.

^ yeah true. thats why i prefer modern day dramas also. Like "A Light of a Million Hopes" (even though thats ATV). I like tvb 1 MILLION times better than atv though.

ATV is good and evreything but i'm just more used to the HK actors/actresses. there are some really good ATV ones but i defnately prefer TVB over them. i kinda miss watching it though since i have been so caught up in the Korean dramas/ kpop!  any recommendations?

i am currently finished with this movie about the kings/queens/the kings worker/and those girls that are like slutty. =/ and its so good .. i finished it already. and right now im watching roger and this other 3 guy/girl. chinese soaps are so good ! i love watchin dem. do u guys watch super trio ?? dey have it again since like last 2 years ! the little short guy is so funni.

Yay for Meteor Garden! Meteor Garden 2 is bad though =[ I like the show Lavender. Oohh and Dolphin Bay
. I can only watch a couple now, though....the chinese satillite we have doesn't show that many soap operas that I watch anymore.
