does getting your period make u stop growing?, im not sure...

i heard from my friend that once u get ur period, ur just gunna grow a few inches and then u'll stop from there...im kinda freaked out cuz i got my period wen i was 10 and even my little brother's catching up to me. im just wondering...and if everyone already knows this..then im just stupid _dry.gif

no, thats totally untrue. it is different for everyone. so dont believe any of the myths.

lol..im not too sure..It feels like it to me ..i have a twin brother and im 5'6 and he's like 5'9 and about 6 months ago he was about my height

I've heard that you stop growing once you get your period because when you get your monthly visitor, that's the end of puberty.

It may be true, it may not. I'm not sure... _unsure.gif

Mmm yeah it's different for everyone. I know some women don't stop growing until they're in their early-twenties. happy.gif I hope that's not true, anyways...haha. I want to be taller!

i thought when you get your period, it means you've hit puberty which means you'll grow more. and you shouldn't compare yourself with boys. they grow faster in a year than a girl.

My doctor told me it's true. But it really depends on the person and your genes. So don't worry you'll grow taller. Females supposedly stop growing at 18. So you got plenty of time to grow.

i hope im one of them that keeps growing. haha. im only 5'2..i only grew a quarter of an inch since last year..im bummed

itz soo not tru! i had mine when i was 13 and i'm still growing! (however i onli grow in the summer) I kno this person hu used to b onli 5'2 when she was 15 but now shes 21 and shes 6'9 and still is sorta growing. Every1 is diff thou, jus do sports n EAT, dun care bou yur "fatness" till u are 18!

its not that you stop growing, but its just that your growing process slows down. since women stop growing at a certain age, after you get your period, you only grow only a few more inches.

mm...my doctor said that the next two yrs after getting it you grow the most that you ever will...but it doesnt mean you'll stop after those two yrs. you'll just...slow down a bit.

well.. dats wut my parents say but its not totally true i guess. i got my period when i was 10 too nd im pretty tall.. well not really haha.. 5'2
