does anyone else have this problem where photoshop keeps freezing ur comp every 5 fricking minutes of the damned day? it's really starting to piss me the f*** off. And then when i reboot and try to open what i was working on, it says "cannot open because its not compatible with this version of photoshop." and im like "WTF are u talking about?!? How can it not be compatible with this version of PS WHEN I MADE IT IN THIS VERSION?!?"

and no matter which version i get ( i tried both 7 and 8) it STILL freezes all the time!

how much free space do you have on your hard dive?? I've had PS freeze up on me MANY times. Usually a reboot solves the prob...but if your HD space is less then 50% free it happens too. You could also have a bad .dll or something...have you tried reinstalling??

I have no clue why its telling you its not compatible...thats a new one to me

I would have to agree with the calling tech support

My photoshop doesn't freeze. Never did. Does your computer have a lot of memory space?

Since I bought this multi-USB port plugs for 30.00 and I have two 125 MB Storage thingie I used those to make my computer faster, even though I have a Windows XP Pentium 4 computer. I ussualy save all of my pictures or paints I have done on one of those drivers or storage thingie.

So my paintshop or watever doesn't freeze............. blink.gif me dunno wat i just said!

I am agreeing with that, u probly dont have enough ram, and photoshop is probly using like 100% of process memory or something, so it freezes. Or U are Applying a Effect but since u dont have a lot of ram, it freezes, well thats my theory.

Um, Instead of saying Reformat you should say Reboot, cause Reformatin is erasing your harddrive so that it has nothing in it, while Reboot is restarting your comp. Lolz just some Information biggrin.gif

i KNOW that. im saying i DO reboot it
but once i had to reformat for some other reason, and even after that, it had still froze.

obviously i know the difference between rebooting and reformatting.
im not completely retarded. i AM computer-savvy, so lets not patronize me.
and i JUST added new ram like a couple days ago. i think somethin might be corrupted... maybe a brush i loaded... cuz it starts happening after i load all my brushes...

... That happened to me once, but then I had like all this wierd stuff on my comp or something... I think someone tampered with my computer at that time. Of course eventually my comp crashed becuase of so many viruses... But back to the topic. I had that thing once, only once. But then I didn't use it that entire day and the next day it was fine. Sometimes photoshop loads really slow for me, even though my computer isn't really that slow =T Well good luck on your computer. Sorry I couldn't help =(
