I'm not going to win this arguement since everyone is being closed minded about the whole deal. But whatever....it's a debate, I suppose.

If it's a debate, and people hold different opinions, you're not very open minded for calling others closed minded. You're simply not going to win because you don't make very much sense. US being 3rd world country? Hmm, I might consider it if you give a more detailed explanation as to how that could happen.

QUOTE
Could you imagine yourself in that position. Take a man of mexican decent for example. He crosses the border thinking of his family and all he is leaving behind. The immigrants are willing to dodge bullets to provide a better life for their families. Would you be calling them a good for nothing "wet back" if you had to start from zero. You can't even begin to comprehend. Now why don't you look down to where your feet are planted This U.S. soil that makes you take sh!t for granted If not for Santa Ana, just to let you know That where your feet are planted would be Mexico.

As a naturalized American citizen, I can empathize with the person in your story. However, the case is that NOT all legal/illegal immigrants are hardworking people, and by that I include all races.

Many indeed have to slave for their food and shelter, but others just stay at home and depends on their American relatives to take care of them. I've seen too many examples of this.

NO ONE should call anyone else good for nothing, UNLESS he/she deserves that term.

I agree with you. Not all immigrants come to work, Which is why I understand why some american citizens have a bad image of immigrants.

Not really because really how much can an illegal immergrant free load without the INS coming to deprot them? Most illegal aliens are too afraid to do anything because they know they will be deported.

It is much easier to freeload off the government when you are legal, because of a program called welfare

All great civilizations or empires fall eventually....example: Egypt, Rome, Greece....you get the picture. The U.S. will be one of those eventually also.

.... eventually.. alright, you know what? I'm going to stop discussing this now.. there's no point trying to change the mind of such a cynic

QUOTE
yeah i agree with you but illegal immigrants give birth so They WON"T get deproted since they're child wold be an anmerican citizen.... that's how they use the welfare. give birth to a child then get food stamps from the goverment and all those other things... but they won't be able to be deported since they have an american citizen child

Realli? They can do that? Meh.. I need to read up a little more ><

Oh yes, you have the power of premonition. You're the next prophet or messenger or some cult leader here to predict the fall of the United States of America.

Okay, sure... now there's a possible career, good luck.

What truth were you referring to? Yours? You do know that an unsupported truth made from your opinion is nothing more than... an opinion right? Calling an opinion a truth, is stretching it unless you have something more substantial to back it up than your ideals.

Anyway, I'm not even going to bother to ask you to explain why/how the US would become a third world country, because I can already feel the ridiculousness of your answer. Maybe there's a book or something you can suggest that I read, but don't bother to tell me what you think of it. It is a possibility, but not in my life time, I don't think.

I agree.. for those of you for deporting illegal immigrants, do you believe that we should deport students from their studies?

personally i think the government NEEDS to crack down on these people.

There are just too many people to crack down on.
Besides, the government is making immigration harder for everyone... like my friend wanted to come here for a visit, but she couldn't get a visa. bleh.
Besides, the government is sort of chasing illegal immigrants. And it's sad how some people take advantage of illegal immigrants.

That's true.

I live in Houston, and there are places one can pick up illegal immigrants to do hard labor and the immigrants themselves must work for a boss who gets paid more than they do for their work. I hate the bosses because they're the mastermind behind the suffering of others.

But, why do they subject themselves to this kind of life? Wouldn't their lives be easier/less humiliating working hard and earning money in their own country?

Some places, people only get paid the equivalent of one us dollar and not per hour. So working here, seeing as they get below minimum wage around 5 per hour, they think that's alot of money. But thats how they help our economy. Faster production at a cheaper rate. But i agree it is sad how some people treat illegal immagrants like rabid animals.

Currency is different so even though it's only like only enough money to buy a pair of shoes or something here, that money in another country might be good enough to buy three pairs of shoes or something.

Bleh. It's sad.

In their native countries, they can't even find jobs, so to them it's better to come here and try to have a better life, since there are plenty of jobs here that others wouldn't want to do. Also, people just want to escape the oppression that resides in their country.

I don't know if that's really the case... It may be for some people, but for others they might have been tricked into thinking that life would be better in the US for them.

Umm...in my case, nobody was really tricked into thinking life would be better in the U.S., it was more of an escape. There is oppression going on still today unfortunately. It's pretty hard to find jobs in the country where my parents are from. At least here there are jobs like cleaning toilets or picking fruit that might be available for immigrants to do. Y'know....jobs that nobody here wants to do.
