Listen--Africa is not the only place where there is AIDS. There are plenty of people infected with it in the United States. And all the other countries. And like another one of you said, "People don't exactly fly to Africa to have sex with their people"..so it's not exactly all coming from there.

The problem isn't about how stereotype people are, because, truth be told, stereotyping comes naturally to us ALL. The real question being addressed is whether or not the US help Africa enough with Aids.

Now then, notice that I bolded the word "help". There is absolutely NO obligation to help anyone, except the obligation to our moral values and ethics. We've been helping Africa by ways of education, information, treatment, sending our doctors, nurses, volunteers, and med interns there... etc

What more can we do? Give the country a certain percentage of our yearly income? Or what's even more ludicris: give one billion dollars because some said we have to, compare to most of Europe who contributes with that very same amount.

The USA (1 country)=$1 billion
Europe (MORE than 1 country)=$1 billion

According to this source, 1.1 billion Africans live on "less than a dollar a day, and 2.7 billion without access to proper sanitation". I must ask you to enlighten me on why that is.

This should be a world's effort to fight Aids, not just America and Europe. Why? Because to slow down the spread, everyone must have knowledge of how and why, or else, it will seem like the US is 'IMPOSING' our views on other cultures. We've been accused of that for a long time, and though this accusation has a some merit, I do not want to see our effort in helping turn out to be someone's idea of us trying to dominate the world.

1. I've BEEN to Africa..a lot of different countries there..I know the places..I see the people..and it amazes me how so many people are saying all these things..because it's not like that at all.
Africa has it's bad parts, as does every place.

2. And if you'd read one of my previous posts, I said that Africa in fact, WAS NOT, the only place where AIDS was a problem.
And it shows me how little you know about Africa when you say "Africa is the only country". Because Africa is a CONTINENT. And I've been to almost 20 different countries there, and I know about more countries there.

CBS is giving statistics about what they've heard. I'm speaking from what I've seen, and where I've lived, and what I've observed.
