There's all these topics about the OC, american idol, janet's breast, and whatnot.. So what about books?! It says Entertainment. Movie, music, tv, celeb, art, and book discussions. Or are books a bore to talk about now-a-days? Heh..

i was thinking of picking up The Da Vinci Code just to see what all the hype was about. anyone have a review of that book? ones i enjoyed reading:

-When Broken Glass Floats by Chanrithy Him
-Fight Club (the book is actually a lot more interesting than the movie)
-Pride and Prejudice (i'm a sap..)
-Dictee by Theresa Hak Kyung Cha
-The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery (all-time fav)

can't think of any more. thanks for your recommendations, though, everyone~

ive read "Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" recently. both were amazing books.

i'm almost done with the da vinci code and i just bought angels and demons tonight matter of fact. _smile.gif i've kind of grown out of the fiction books though. i like the non-fiction books now. i love books on religion. no matter what it is. that and philosophy. i'm reading the secret archives of the vatican and cutting right now. i'm one of those people that read 3 or 4 books at once. wacko.gif yes it's wacko but tis what i do...i agree there should be more topics on books though...

Ayn Rand

if you're into objectivism.

*cough*IamAb0okworm*cough*

whistling.gif

All time faves are:

Tell Me your Dreams (Sidney)
Nothing Lasts Forever (Sidney)
Rage of Angels (Sidney)
Other Side of Midnight (Sidney)
LOTR 1,2 and 3 (Tolkien)
Harry Potter 3 and 4 (Rowling)
Salem's Lot (King)
Hearts of Atlantis (King)
The Little Prince (Forgot name of Author)
To Kill a Mocking Bird (Harper Lee)
The Godfather 1, 2 and 3 (Mario Puzzo)
The Cider House Rules (John Irving)

happy.gif Those were books that had perfect wordings, exact descriptions, and a truly immeasurable imagination. It's only seldom when you find a book which is prefectly written and is practically helpful to you at the same time. Those books, I believe, despite of how fictional most of them may be, had both of those assets. And I tell you, those books were the ones which you can't stop reading once you've started it. happy.gif I'd list down all the other books I've read buh... that'll make this post too long o.o;;; so... nvm happy.gif

When I think of a good book I think of Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It's the first thing that came to mind.

books are a great form of entertainment, but those who are too lazy should probably just stick to movies and tv and such.. but you can definetly get absorbed into a good book, and when you do, it's a lot better than any movie.
