put metal in a microwave on accident?

I just did and it was pretty sweet. I recommend it.

Ahahahaha by accident we put a paper plate that had writing in silver on it and it went off like fireworks

yeah i do this too often without realizing something has metal. i had some of those things of butter and they were wrapped in paper that had some kind of metal shiz in it i guess. exploded fireworks all in my microwave.

no i haven't and that comes out of the years of being scared into "the microwave will explode" story from my parents.

The microwave + metal thing actually won't do anything if the piece of metal is completely flat / has no high points for the electricity to arc over (or something like that).

it would have to be perfectly smooth, even on a microscopic level everything would have to be perfectly smooth with no imperfections whatsoever.

I imagine it would also have to be perfectly flat, as in totally without a third dimension.
