I am looking at shelter dogs, it was just this one specific shelter that was just really weird/anal about everything. And the lady was a bitch.
the 850 dog was a pet store dog though |

They interview people to ensure that the dog isn't going to end up back at the pound or thrown out on the street again. |

Yeah, The place from the outside/lobby seemed really nice, but the dogs just didn't seem to be as well taken care of as the should have been. They weren't horrible by any means. but compared to the other shelters they just seemed way more dirty/skinny/wound up.
You could only see one dog at a time though (I only say three) so I may be judging too fast. No, I just found out she was gone when I got home. It wouldn't be so bad since she never really wonders when she gets out, but she's one to hide if there is a storm and there was thunder in the distance all day. |

If you happen to ever return and see more dogs, I'd suggest you take a good look. There are a lot of non-profit rescues who, despite doing it with good intentions (I'm sure), accept more animals than they can care for. It's irresponsible; while they may want to save everyone, they ought to concentrate on maintaining the health of their current animals. You may want to report them... There have been several "sanctuaries" in my area that have been shut down because of this. Poor kitty.  Okay, I'll stop. Sorry!
