I am capable of drinking pale ale, but nothing beats a good imperial stout.

I'm not a big fan of wine either, but as far as beer vs hard liquor, I'll indiscriminately take whatever is available.

I freaking love pale ales. Even more so are the IPAs. Ever tried Stone IPA / Ruination / Doghead 90?

Is pale ale just what it sounds like? I've never heard of that or eyeballing vodka until now.

A Pale Ale is a malty beer. It originated in England if I'm correct. It also tends to be rather bitter, but tastes rather awesome. IPA is an acronym for India Pale Ale, it's imo even more bitter than the regular Pale Ale. Unlike Pale Ales, it's got a hoppy flavor as opposed to the malty flavor. More awesome, imo.

Stone is a microbrewery from California. It's not the same as European beers I'm sure, but I've come to appreciate that the thing America has over Europe when it comes to beer is the microbrewery. So much of what's in Europe is standard and has been for so long (why change what's awesome?), so America had to find it's own niche to get into and that seems to be the Microbrewery. They're so experimental because they're not huge and they have a lot less to lose / a lot less reputation to maintain.

Anyway, if I ever end up in England I'll see what's going on.

^that's what i meant to say

i don't like wine. my girlfriend drinks a glass like every day. i don't get it and i don't get drinking it with a meal. i need to wash my food down by taking a real drink, not a little sip at a time.

No, but I don't need to get wasted to know that I'll probably get Asian glow. I purposely choose not to attend many parties or to get drunk when I'm at college. I've still made several great friends and had way more fun than I could have at a party, where most people are just looking to hook up and can't hold a half-decent conversation. Everyone has their own lifestyle choices, so opting to stay sober (and save my liver :p) is mine.

I don't think anyone can have fun at a party with that kind of mentality =/

Yeah, really. My older cousin, who's a college senior, told me that you don't go to a party/bar/club to make friends with whom you can hang out and have good conversation, and so far I've found that to be true. Maybe I'm a square for not enjoying myself at parties, but I just don't like being around people who are binge-drinking, especially when they won't remember my name if I ever see them again. I'd rather meet people around campus, whether in the dining halls, library, or just chilling out between classes.

Those are the people you want to party with then. Two ways to party: with people you know and with people you don't know.

Truth. I went to a couple of house parties with my friends from a school club and had way more fun at those than at the one house party I went to where they charged at the door and everything was just nasty.

KEYSTONE BAHAHAHAHAHAAA

Keystone, Keystone light and Natty Ice are like every frats staple beer at my college... sooo classy. I haven't been to a frat/random house party in like two years because everyone's a tool and I just can't stand drunk, obnoxious people. I don't go to parties anymore (except when my boyfriend and his roommates or other rugby guys have them) since I'm 21 and my friends/almost everyone is underage at the parties... I prefer to go to the bars especially when we win free happy hour parties all the time.

I don't normally drink beer, but this restaurant in town called Iron Hill Brewery makes all of their own and they have a raspberry wheat beer that is sooo good. They also have Crane Lake White Zinfandel, which is my alllllll time favorite wine.
