I had my first glass of wine today. It smelled like apple juice and tasted like vinegar. Aka. Crap. It was horrible. Why do people like that stuff?

I feel the same way you do about red wine. I rarely drink because I hate the taste of straight alcohol, and will only have a little bit of even girly, mixed drinks. But Blue Moon is a Belgian-style beer and the only beer I don't hate.

Acquire a taste? You mean you have to keep drinking it until you like it?

Yeah; it can take a while to grow on you and to find what you like. I only drank for the first time when I was 18 at my friend's 21st birthday party, but those were mixed drinks of fruity stuff and vodka. A friend had me try Bacardi rum and it was like nasty, bitter Sprite; never again. There's bound to be something you like, but I'm not going to be the one to get you started on drinking this early. Wait until you're older before you get into it.

Yeah...wine takes awhile to get used to and as you age I find your tastes adjust. I used to hate wine, and now I love it.

Jager? Really?

I really like red and white wine. I found red wine to be a bit overwhelming when I first tried it, but it only took a short time for me to get used to.

If it takes so much time and effort to find a wine you like, why not just drink a non alcoholic drink? Or do people just drink for the light headed feeling.

I've heard a lot of people say they drink and smoke for the buzz it gives them, so you're right about that part.

Yes. And seeing how it's vodka it sears through parts of your eye. It's just something d-bags do to get props.

ITS A WASTE OF VODKA :(

^ That is the one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.

I don't think I necessarily had to acquire a taste for wine, it's just that I can't toss it back and expect it to taste good. There's a reason you see people take a sip, then hold it in their mouths for a few seconds before swallowing. It's like dark chocolate for me, I only like it if I eat it a certain way. xD

The people that tell you alcohol is an acquired taste are poor people who can't afford decent alcohol

you sure its not the adrenaline rush of the whole act? bc they say eyeballing vodka doesn't really get the vodka into your bloodstream faster. idk though.

I heard you can actually have more of a buzz just by drinking a shot and that, that has a more "direct contact" to your bloodstream. shrug.gif
