You know, I've always been fascinated by inexplicable phenomenons. Recently, I started to think about how thought power can affect things besides like inventions, information, etc. and actually have an effect on physical objects, specifically psychokinesis.

If you're not familiar with what psychokinesis is about (or how it's done, whatever), it basically says that if you're mental health is at it's topmost condition and you have the ability to exert a great deal of concentration on one object and one object only, having all other thoughts and distractions completely free from you except for that one object, that one certain object will move on it's own.

Now, I've never seen anyone do this personally, but I've heard that a few people can actually do it. I don't know, there could be some kind of gag or something that could trick people into thinking their actually performing psychokinesis (for example, maybe like a thin, invisible hidden string used to pull a cup towards you by slightly jerking your hand which would hold onto the string). But, it could actually be real, although it can't be proven. I heard one theory, though, that says that when the mind is focused on one object, the thought power may responsible for activating physical energy (which I still can't fathom how that's possible), thereby causing the object to move.

So, tricky magic, or actual science? Thoughts?

P.S. - This doesn't go to only moving things with your mind. It can also involve blowing things up with your mind, shrinking them, changing it's shape, and the like.

I remember after watching Matilda a long long time ago, I spent a fair amount of time in my room staring at my door, thinking about things that made me angry and attempting to slam it shut with those thoughts.

But really... I'm skeptical of these 'superpowers'. It just seems so unlikely to me. It's one of those things that I'd have to see in person to believe. And even then, I might attribute the event to coincidence or something. Eh, I don't know.

Haha, but then again, you were focusing on both those angry thoughts and shutting the door, therefore (by the "technique" of psychokinesis) you were unable to shut the door? tongue.gif

Oh, yeah. That's an interesting thought. Like perhaps a door or something is pretty loose and would swing easily shut with some wind from a window or fan or something making it appear as if they've actually shut it themselves.

I don't know, there's a lot of stuff in science that can't be proven, or hasn't been proven yet, so it could actually be real. Not saying I believe it, but there's always the possibility.

I didn't read a word of the OP's post. But why try to move things with your mind when you can get a woman to do it for you?

I thought it was usually the other way around.
